Hi guys, I was just browsing for a part time job to fill in before I apply for accounting internships next year. However most of the IT jobs demand that you have Compia A+ qualifications. I am based in Wellington and wondering where I can obtain this? Also, from the website it says the course takes 12 weeks, any chances of doing it in less time? I have watched some lessons on youtube and it looks very straightforward, not to mention I have done most of the things the course covers many times.
Just after some more information, also what other courses are good to look at?
Thanks

If youre confident you know what youre doing, you can bypass the course and just do the exams.

Workmate just did his A+ (to update, he hasnt done it for years) and said it was a bit more involved than what it was 10 years ago.... he was quite surprised at some of the detail they wanted. And he teaches A+...... :)

Awesome thanks, ill read around and watch YouTube (there is a great tutor who has videos on all the topics) to ensure I haven't missed anything.
Can it be sat online? Or what institutions offer the test? Thanks

I have a whole stack of CDs on the training...there are some things that can catch you out.

No, it cannot be sat online.  You have to attend a Pearson VUE proctored testing centre.  Go to http://www.vue.com/comptia/locate/ to find one.

Just make sure the guy on YouTube is showing you a reasonably current version of the training material ;)
IIRC my workmate said theres a section on virtual machines as well.
