I'm investigating selling some larger items (furniture, industrial equipment, etc...) on TradeMe and am looking for transportation solutions.

During my investigation I have found almost every freight company I have called or checked out a website for require you to be an account customer (signing a contract, etc...) which seems a little over the top for what I'd like to arrange. I have maybe 5-10 items and will probably use different companies depending on the places the items sell to. Signing up for an account at multiple freight companies seems unnecessary to me.

Do any freight companies still exist that I can call, book a job, and will allow me to pay them some cash/internet banking and come and pick up my items?

All of the stuff will be (or already is) properly palletised. What do others here do when they need to ship large items within NZ?

I suspect they are all the same but some smaller may do it. Have you tried furniture removal people as they are more setup for that sort of stuff.
