Once upon a blue moon you'd send a courier and it will get there the next day 101% of the time.

Within south island non rural address i was told next working day target but it never happens.

Anyone finds that?

Courier Post definitely offers this service but I guess it depends on your location. I'm in Whakatane and often get next day service from Auckland and Wellington. Perhaps it's different down south.

you have to buy the overnight tickets rather than the regular 2 nights, that way it goes via airmail tot he south island rather than by train/truck/ferry etc.

and most likely what's happened is after 48 hrs sitting in the nzpost sorting office they have discovered the mistake and has sent it to courier post sorting office ...

my 1st world major fuming with anger

but in reality ... i've tossed a big mac into the bin

joker97: OK i rang courier post. apparently i purchased a courier UPGRADE

That's how it works now days (since a few months back when NZ Post restructured it's in-store postage), they only sell one type of bags, but print out a courier label "upgrade" label and slap it on the package.  But what happens is that the dullard behind the counter then proceeds to chuck it in the post bin, instead of the courier bin.

Before this, courier post bags were distinctive so the desk monkey didn't make that mistake.

I specifically mentioned next day delivery before giving it to him. Sounds like WAR when I go back tomorrow

Sending from work they are almost always next day to businesses and usually do it for people that are working from a home address.

Ive given up sending from a post shop - seldom hit next day and the charge for signature is insanely high.
