New Zealand is no longer eligible for free shipping via Amazon global saver program. Paid shipping only. Mexico and Singapore still get free shipping.

Great value while it lasted

Really glad I ordered all my computer parts last night

Stink. I was about to pull the finger on my second order as soon as the first had got here.

How do you figure that? Amazons global shipping page says otherwise.

Interesting. It's still listed on the international shipping on the main Amazon site.

I was also caught by the unexpected cutoff. I had a big pile of things in my cart for the past few weeks, but kept chopping and changing, and then every time I went to place the order something was out of stock so I held off pulling the trigger.
When I finally tried it yesterday I found the free shipping was gone.
I contacted their customer service, and expressed my displeasure - I was offered 50% off shipping, which I was pleased about, but didn't take up immediately as I was going to remove a few items from the cart to drop the price a bit.
This morning I got everything ready, contacted customer service again and placed the order - at which time I was told she'd waived the shipping entirely! I then got her to re-add the items I'd taken out, which she did.
So from a very bad (sick to the stomach) day yesterday, I've changed to a very happy day today!

It just goes to confirm that Amazon has the best customer service of any large company in the world. No mean feat considering their size.

anyone knows anything about the amazon customs fee deposit process?

my order came in just under NZD400 inc shipping, they took $100 as deposit.

I paid in NZD just to be sure

my order upon arrival had an invoice inside that said total paid USD412 - no breakdown of fee.

what the?! how would customs know?

Amazon works with Customs. They calculate the total price plus shipping, GST and taxes (if any) and will charge you if anything needs to be paid. If the goods land here and Customs don't actually charge Amazon then you get your money back. If it's more than what Amazon charged you they will pay the difference.
