Finally got round to watching the last few episodes of the final series of "The Good Place". The first two series were fine, but it kind of went looking for a plot after that.

Finally got round to watching The Wire.

Up to S01E10 and starting to see why it's rated so highly.

Being somewhat oldies, we had a great deal of difficulty understanding the combined accents and street jive lingo of the black kids. Made it a bit hard to follow. Then we turned on the subtitles - and it was a revelation. Brilliant series.

I’m currently re-watching The Sopranos - nearly 20 years on. Still brilliant too.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Slowly re-watching Inspector Morse after having interest piqued by “Endeavour” (which is great btw). Morse is looking so dated that it makes me feel old because 1989 doesn’t seem that long ago...

Also just started re-watching Band of Brothers, that one never gets old

CokemonZ: 1st episode of westworld season 3.

Forgot how good this series is.

And luckily it climbed out of that pit that was S03E05, as I noted earlier; S03E06 was a distinct improvement, thank god.

Watched the whole of the second series of After Life with Ricky Gervais.

One of the finest pieces of television I have seen in years. A masterpiece of observation and screenwriting. In the same way that The Office made anyone who had worked in a modern office almost have to leave the room because, despite being hilarious, it was so close to reality as to be almost painful, AL pulls the same trick with loss and grief.

I did think the first series was more leavened with comedy than the second and was better for it, but the second is an emotional ride even for someone like me who does not have a surfeit of emotion. My wife cried through every episode I think.

Do docuseries count?

Anyways yesterday started watching The Last Dance - A docuseries that chronicles the simultaneous rise of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, as well as the popularity of the NBA during the 1990s. The limited series, made with the full participation of Jordan and other key figures from the Bulls’ championship teams, features more than 500 hours of never-before-seen footage from the’s team’s championship run in the 1997-98 season, along with commentary from dozens of others sports luminaries.

2 episodes in, very interesting. 8 episodes to come.

Westworld - Season 3 - much more linear and straightforward than the first two seasons but really enjoying this season.

I’d be interested in hearing what you think of S03E05 when you get to that (if you haven’t already). I too had been loving this season, but this latest episode brought that love affair crashing down to Earth. Such a different tone and style; here’s hoping it was just a one-off.

I didn't mind it. Sometimes series do veer off on a tangent with a different style (e.g. the animated scooby doo episode of supernatural or all the musical episodes of tv series) but having said that when your season is a tight 8 episodes you've got to make sure every minute counts.

Not a big fan of Aaron Paul and I hope his story arc actually has some point. Vincent Cassell (Serac) was a great addition to this season as well as Tommy Flannagan (Martin)

David Halberstams book about Jordan goes very well with it so far. It's about the same season and has many similar themes.
