Walker - Series Premier.

What a horrifying first episode. I can't recall a worse pilot. I kept thinking, it's gotta start making sense, these characters will start to be relatable, things will improve, but it's the worst 40 minutes of TV I've watched in a good many years. If they could have found a worse actor to take the role of Walker, I am not sure how.

Agreed, CW have turned it into some tweener drama all about the characters and their relationships, rather than Chuck Norris kicking in doors.

Just finished A Discovery Of Witches S02. Very pleased indeed, a lot more info added after being starved of the characters history in season 01. Can't wait for S03. Anyone interested in Vamp, Witch, Demon style series for adults without teenage angst or cheap CGI should give it a shot.

The Expanse S3 - I enjoyed S1 and S2. Absolutely blown away by S3.

Started S4. Checking wikipedia I see there is a five and six coming.

Walker S01E02. Hard to believe it's the same TV show, hardly Emmy worthy, but I can see some direction and finally a little chemistry. Not sure it will keep me watching as they seem to be heading in a different direction than I might have hoped, but it's not a 1/10 any more.

I suspect the tweeny stuff is here to stay, but in the next couple of ep's you'll see some door smashing. They have alluded to his capabilities a little.

The Serpent on BBC. A true story about Charles Sobhraj a serial killer from the 70s who preyed on back packers in South East Asia. Really enjoying it. The bad reviews for it on IMDb are mainly people who didn’t like the jumping round of the timeline. Must admit I struggle to start with, but once you get to episode 2 you get the hang of the story and it makes sense. 8/10

Inspired by the British series from the 80's but with Kevin Spacey.

Amazing.

Anything more would be a spoiler.

It started out well, but once 2016 rolled round it started to pale into insignificance next to real life...

+ having to dump your lead actor for the final season never helps a show...

Sis / NZ Comedy / Neon - Solid NZ sketch comedy. The weakest part is an overly drawn out recurring writers room sketch. The rest is gold. Sadly one episode only and it's looking like no more will arrive.

In this season Richard Hammond and Tory Belleci use what’s left of their shipwreck to survive and thrive. Using their engineering know how, the boys try to escape the island and even make their island life better. From a fully working tank to a three-story treehouse on the seafront, life is pretty sweet. But will their inventions help them escape, or keep them stuck forever in paradise?

i give it 7/10, it can get a bit childish and you cant wonder where the stuff is coming from to build the things but if you enjoyed Mythbusters and you watch Savage Builds on Discovery then you will like it.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Although I'm still not totally sold on a whole season devoted to intricacies of Belters anger towards Inners and each other.... Esp without Ashford

(I mean , the man was doing Seashanties before they were even famous :)- talk about precedent.....

its not hard to work out... heck it was well known they were "seeding" critical items way back on shows like Scrapheap challenge 20+ years ago, so things will have become even more "made for TV" since then

Its the same with all of those "fly on the wall" shows..... occasionally they end up having to let a scene through where the back stage crew are visible and its amazing how many people are actually "behind" the camera out of shot....

Top Gear/Grand Tour are famous for the size of the crews they drag around the world to film "3 go mad in XXXX"

Yes - enjoying this too.

Also ‘Billions’ on Neon - an older show but very good. A bit like ‘Suits’ but centred on a hedge fund billionaire v. a New York District Attorney.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
