FineWine:

Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 will premiere on Nov. 18 on Paramount Plus in the U.S. and on Netflix in 190 other countries.

I have loved this series - a lot

Different strokes I guess.

As a life time Star Trek fan, I can only describe Discovery as utter garbage. And it's gotten consistently worse throughout it's 3 seasons. I feel like I should still watch it on general principal since I've always watched Star Trek, but I am seriously considering flagging season 4.

It's preachy and hits you over the head with it's politics with all the subtly of a sledge hammer. Real Star Trek cleverly presented stories with plots analogous to real world politics, and let the viewer draw their own conclusions. But Discovery isn't real Star Trek.

I wish the Orville was back sooner. It's the best star trek type series I have seen in a long time.

Unlike their opinion on Star Trek Discovery, I have to agree with @FineWine on Foundation. I watched the first 6 episodes in one sitting and am really enjoying it.

I've never read the books, so have no idea where it's going; and I really wish I'd waited until the entire season was out before starting because now I have to wait!

That's because it follows the TNG formula so closely it must be bordering on copyright infringement. But I'm OK with that.

It's so well played, as a tribute to all that was ridiculous about Star Trek and its various spin-offs.

I love the Jello guy (RIP Norm Macdonald) and Bordis really makes me laugh. I am only a couple of episodes into season 2, but really do enjoy it.

Seth MacFarlane's  huge undying respect of Trek and TNG in particular has seen this show move from what was likely sold to the networks as a quick trek parody, into something much much more... as seen in this description

Watched the final two episodes of Brooklyn 99. Feels like I have said goodbye to quite a number of great long-running series recently without anything to replace them with.

It was one of the better finales honestly, they did a good job. Andre Braugher was excellent in it.

I caught it unexpectedly on FTA Duke when it aired. Didn't realise season 8 was airing as Netflix only has season 7.

Unfortunately season 8 doesn't seem to be on TVNZ on Demand so I'll have to wait to watch the rest of the season.

I'm enjoying this series

There is a lot of off-screen deaths, but should be OK for 13 and above.

Lots of fighting, "trash talk". Pretty dark back-stories.

There's a smattering of untranslated Mexican Spanish, and even a couple of Mayan words, but won't cause any confusion. For example "indiscreción" and indiscretion are pronounced very differently between English and Spanish.

Very true. In the meantime, Star Trek Discovery is back soon.

Wife and I started watching Only Murders In The Building on Disney+ Star this weekend, as the weather was rubbish.

Just started this tonight, up to episode three.

Angela Black on TVNZOD. Have watched two out of seven episodes. Another excellent Brit suspense thriller, starring Joanne Froggatt.

Just finished watching 10 seasons of Benidorm. Just seemed to keep getting better.

9/10. If you like a bit of British comedy, you'll probably love it.

as a Trekkie from way back ( and a huge sci-fi fan) ,  this show has been really disappointing. Michael alternately whispers and cries.  And it’s all me me me.

Doctor Who returns this coming Monday 1st Nov on Channel 2 & 2+1.

Now here is the thing, it is during the early family viewing period. 1720-1830.

Apart from repeats I don't think I have ever viewed The Doctor this early on FTA.

Set your recorders folks.

The difficult we can do immediately. The impossible takes a bit longer. But Miracles you will have to wait for.
