Gurezaemon:

openmedia:

Farscape - 4 seasons + "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars". 8/10

Been long overdue a re-watch and whilst there are a few duff episodes I'd forgotten just how great this show was. It could easily be picked up for a follow up given the way the show wrapped up.

Farscape was wonderful. Some great, season-long storylines, with the animatronic characters so well done that you don't even notice after a few minutes. A pretty solid tongue-in-cheek sense of humour as well.

The animatronics still stand up really well. Pilot is one of the most emotive characters and you can really connect.

Also Scorpius is an outstanding, along with "Harvey" of course.

Just finished rewatching S1 of Farscape myself on my N'th watch-through.

IMHO the best Science Fiction series we have ever had, every season is every bit as good as the one before it, which is a lot more than can be said for other television.

I've just finished watching the 4 episode reboot of Malcolm in the Middle

If you're a fan and haven't watched the show in a while, I'd suggest watching at least a few episodes of a later season of the original before jumping into this one. There were so many characters I didn't remember and it made it harder to watch, IMO.

Also - The family got a lot larger all of a sudden - I recall Lois getting pregnant in the last episode, but to jump in 20 years or so later and suddenly have 2 new kids, a different Dewey and all the side-characters, it's a tough watch for an old brain.

I didn't hate it, but it wasn't as fun as I remember it being.

Just finished watching Twenty Twenty Six, the next installment of Ian Fletcher after his stint at the BBC as Head of Values. Still quite biting satire but the cast are not as good as the UK actors so some of the character interactions are not as funny. But still a good watch. It's started on TVNZ+ but I watched it elsewhere :-)

Thanks I'll give it a watch. I think the best bit of the original series was Lois in the rage in the supermarket carpark segment

Resident Alien , on Netflix
1st 2 seasons (of 4) are on Netflix .
A great show, well acted .

An Alien lands in a Small US Town , takes on human form , becomes the town Doctor as his disguise.
Its offbeat , doesnt try & be serious . It much about living in small town USA & the characters who live there .
Not really sci-fi , except the main character is an Alien in human form .
