do you mean the new DiCaprio movie or the French supernatural drama Les Revenants?

If Les Revenants - then yes, it's really good. Avoid the Hollywood remake from last year (The Returned) as that stinks.

If you enjoyed Vikings, check out The Last Kingdom. I'm hooked on Hell On Wheels at the moment, very good.

dclegg: We just finished watching Acquitted (Frikjent) on Lightbox. Its a Norwegian show about a man who was acquitted of murder and returns to his home town 20 years later. Lavishly shot, and captivating viewing.

It's subtitled, which we've usually steered clear from, but this was compelling enough for us to see it through to the end. We may have to rethink our "TV is not for reading" stance. ;-)

Thanks for that recommendation - will give it a try before our free Lightbox trial ends.

Yeah, don't let subtitles put you off, given some of the best TV series of the last few years are European.

Other excellent series from a similar part of the world (all Danish or Danish/Swedish) are The Bridge (watching third season of this on BBC) and Borgen (also three series of this); also The Killing is supposed to be good (we watched the US version so are unlikely to watch the original now). The Legacy is another one we've got down to watch.

Seen all of them (except Frikjent) and nothing else comes close. Compulsive viewing, every one. Borgen is my favourite. Scandinavian TV is on a roll. So much better than anything else I have seen in recent years.

That was my question. I missed the first episode and was wondering what people thought of it. I loved the original.

I watched the first episode of Outsiders.  Not sure if I like it or not. Just have to keep watching to see how it develops and what questions it answers. For first episode myself I give 5/10.

Just started watching season 3 of The 100, which I've been waiting to come back for ages. Anyone else been watching? For a teen show from the CW channel (the folks that brought us Buffy way back when) it started out as one might expect, but the storytelling and the body count had both reached epic heights by the end of Season 2. I really like the fact that every time I thought they'd back off something particularly uncomfortable, they didn't. Plus, as a female, I appreciate the large number of strong female characters on the show. I'm really enjoying it.

loved the first nine seasons and saw the first two episodes of the new season . . .

It probably should have been left shut down in the age of the internet where most conspiracy theories have died off.

What? Now is that most crazy conspiracy theorists have a larger audience. There are more of this crazy stuff than before.

Anyway I liked they are doing it, but... [spoilers]

After both of then working together for so many years, Scully still goes around shouting to Mulder "That's what they want you to believe" and "Mulder you're paranoid"? Seriously? After all she had seen/heard? After all those cases?

JWR:
'The Expanse' is worth a watch if you are into Space Opera - Sci Fi.

It seems like a cross between Game of Thrones (based on a book series also) and Babylon 5.

I think it is good so far. But, it has a potential to be great.

I've just started watching this as well and completely agree, it's nice to have a decent space opera on TV again.
