In Auckland hair - windy and rainy - not too bad, and the rain is not heavy. Still - don't think it's over yet, just the beginning....

I don't think it's been that bad here in Whangarei.
Hasn't really been that much rain here and the wind has died down since about midday today.

Yep, just the usual over-hyped silliness in Auckland. A bit windy, a bit drizzly, but nothing different to a normal day you would see in winter / spring.

Howling onshore, spray blowing over the house. Trees broken over the driveway & on the tractor. Gen running but power's back on..

Looking at that map, it's not far from Cape Reinga now, but it appears that it's drifted to the west.

I actually work in Auckland and live up north - when leaving home there was a heap of branches on the ground. Its the ongoing wind that's a problem and if it picks up there are already a few large broken branches that do not need much convincing to fall down.

Geektastic: Pretty much nothing other than my usual paranoia.

Being in Wairarapa we get wind all the time (well, often) so we usually keep the place battened down.

Checked Metservice rural forecast and we are not scheduled to get much of Lusi really so no dramas.

JIC I have the EQ kit in the Bunker (it's a container we will use as a house in case of The Big One) and will have my PLB on my belt.

We have plenty of firewood and tinned food as well as over 5000 litres of stored rainwater too.

Oh - plus 4 rifles, 2 shotguns, 2 dogs, fishing gear, a second PLB and so on in case it really falls apart.

Can confirm Masterton has been fairly windy lately. Expecting more of the same.

easy to see who is prepared for the zombie apocalypse :)

Indeed.

A friend of mine has a sign at the bottom of his drive that says "If you can read this, you're in range"!

That's because it isn't expected to reach until closer to 6. The weather has turned though.

No wind here in EBOP either but we're getting a slow soak which is badly needed. Hopefully it will keep it up overnight. I didn't need to tie the kids to poles after all.

Hamilton: wind has been steadily picking up overnight but certainly in last 30 mins the gusts are getting much stronger, it's almost exciting.
This page has all the NZ weather stations, unfortunately in different visual formats . Most have wind speed and wind gust

There's no storm!
It's an evil marketing campaign by Progressive Enterprises. They are overstocked on water, candles, batteries and tinned food.
