Hi all,

Just a quick heads up when getting items delivered. Every purchase I make now I will be taking a couple minutes to confirm that Post Haste is not used as the shipping/courier company. 99% of my parcels arrive in a Courier Post or a Fastways van and have never had an issue, dozens of parcels a month - I didn't even consider that there would be a huge difference between services.

I ordered some computer equipment, paid extra for a signature / tracked package. I always do this because I want the item physically handed to me, not left on my doorstep etc. I live down a long driveway, I also live right next to a school in the Mt Eden area and used to have curious kids pinch my stuff when sent from overseas using normal postage. And then, lets not mention the row of shared mailboxes with the opening facing the road, almost inviting anyone walking past to enjoy my deliveries.

My wife was home specifically to collect the package.

The courier driver left the package in my mailbox on the road and signed for the package himself. I looked at it online, he had signed my last name. I sent my wife out to the mailbox and she found the package, it had been opened and my equipment covered in something very unsavory, I can only assume some hobo from Dominion Road decided to open the parcel and finding nothing food or alcohol related spat on it and put it back in the letterbox for my wife to enjoy.

I made a complaint via the online contact complaints form to Post Haste, someone replied saying that the driver couldn't find my door. I explained that my door was attached to my house and was very easy to find and that my wife left the door open, the external light on during the day and that my unit number is firmly attached and prominently displayed. I was told the 'fleet commander' or some such would get back to me. All I received was complete silence. I contacted again ... continued silence. I will be phoning today but I can see how this is going.

The driver error/stupidity/ineptness can and indeed already has been forgiven - no issue there. But Post Haste ignoring me and hoping I will go away when I feel I have a legitimate complaint - it goes a long way to explain how this piss poor company operates.

Post Haste is a terrible choice for getting items delivered, I won't be using them at all in the future and sincerely hope that anyone currently doing business with this company take a moment to re-assess the options.

I used to work in a building that was attached to a car park building in Wellington, every other courier would stop in the car park and run up to our reception with the parcel. As they were only in the car park for 5 mins it didn't cost them anything. Not Poste Haste though "we cannot deliver your parcel as there is nowhere to park"

Worst courier company ever. I agree - Avoid.

Yep they suck alright. I used to use Pass the Parcel (a Post Haste sub-brand, with nifty Trademe integration) until their courier decided to ignore all pickup requests from my address

I agree!!!
Still waiting for promised phonecall from Christchurch Branch Manager since January 10!!!
Even had them place card to collect in letterbox...without even walking in...parcel not even taken out of van, but prewrote card! (I was home)
Parcels regularly out for delivery then back to depot with no actual attempt at delivery.
People seem to forget that it is the receiver who is actually paying for their pathetic service!
I make a note of who uses them and advise the sender why I won't use them as a supplier again!

I use Fastways for bigger sized stuff and NZ post for smaller stuff. Haven't had any issues with either in recent years. Thanks for the heads up on Post Haste. I'll be sure to request any shippers not use them!

One of our movie suppliers uses them, the dickhead driver delivered our movie releases to the warehouse instead of my shop (reading not a pre requisite to be a post haste courier driver?), found this out on the Monday (2 days before release). Phd the warehouse to be told they gave the package back to the courier that morning and he would be dropping it off straight away.
Monday - nothing. Follow up movie company
Tuesday - nothing. Follow up movie company and "try" to get some joy out of post haste, what a joke.
Wednesday - nothing. Now it's a problem, release day, best movie of the month, no stock to put on shelves, customers not happy. At least it wasn't wet/cold and there were other movies out that day so most took a 2nd choice movie.
Thursday - no longer prepared to wait for courier to make the massive journey of +/- 300 metres, buy stock at retail from the warehouse (same one where my stock was delivered). 2pm that day, post haste turn up with my original delivery, no apology, nothing.

No messages returned by post haste, no apology, no compensation for lost trade. Useless

I can tell you, having used many couriers, both to send and receive, that it comes down to the individual driver for that area.

The worst experiences I have had were with PBT. Not one, but many.

Although after the latest, after I complained and refused to sign for it (But took it anyway), I note he is very prompt and makes a point of doing it all by the book now.

In some areas (I have lived in different parts of the country) Post Haste were great, in others, not so great.

 NZ Couriers, Castle Parcels, NOW Couriers and Sub60 are all the same company.

I had some bad runs with PBT many years ago, put me off them for good. Maybe things have changed.....

At my last job, we used NZCouriers, and they were on the ball, only one parcel went missing over a 2 year period (and good chance it was actually delivered but lost in the office system), anything I did have a concern about, I'd call, and have a satisfactory response by the end of the business day.

But pctek has a point, some drivers are actually there for the job and do it well, others just see it as a quick buck and literally throw the parcels around, not caring who has signed for them etc.

Agree it's usually down to the driver; my local Post Haste driver in Putaruru is one of the most friendly, polite, courteous courier drivers I know and I never have any issues with my deliveries. If it's too early, she parks down the bottom of driveway and sneaks up quietly to the lockup to place my delivery without waking us up.

I will say most of the time it depends on your courier driver, 

I personally know all the courier drivers in the area and never have problems since as soon as they see my company or name they know exactly where to go and if im not there then where to leave it for me,

Some csr of the courier companies can be the ones that cause the problem, i hate being lied to and run around and if i am then its as simple as going to the dept to speak to the manager face to face (this is only because i have so many things going out daily)

It is very much the driver, and we seem to have a new Post Haste driver in our area - or perhaps the other one is just on leave. For the last few years he's always just thrown the parcels over the gate and signed for it himself, but the new fella at least places it on the doorstep & rings the doorbell. Still doesn't get a signature even when it's sig required, but at least we don't have a 1-in-3 break rate.

I've used most courier and they all have their failings occasionally but poor delivery is usually down the practices of the specific driver although you could argue that this is due to poor training or lack of management action.

Cost of the service provided also isn't a determining factor of the quality of the service you will receive either.

I now use Fastway for all freight and have found them to be fairly priced and as good as any other in terms of pickup and delivery.

A guy I know had a package being sent via post haste,
As the courier van went around a corner, it fell out the window and a member of the public spotted it as the courier drove off, he picked it up and hand delivered it and let him know it fell out the window

So the guy I know calls post haste and they denied ever having the package and refused to do anything about it!

now that is bad...

its fairly clear that PostHaste have some seriously failings.

I find it easier to comment on good service rather than bad now, as it happens less often!
