PC correctness strikes again. Bring back the 80's/90's. I think it's a rather smart advertising. Who cares about Rabbits, just ask any farmer, I'm game to give their new pizza a try (Excuse the bad pun). I bet there's quite a few people out there with leather phone covers or drive to work everyday sitting in leather car seats....wearing leather belts, shoes, jackets, carrying leather purses, sitting on leather sofas..... poor cows.

Don't get me wrong though we did own 3 mini lop rabbits, one an angora.

As for Hell I must admit that their quality has gone down hill over the last couple of years and the prices have been steadily rising. We use to have Hell all the time but not anymore because of this, however it's great as a one off once a month. A big shout out to the Northcote store, best Hell pizza ever :-)

Frankly this is no worse than advertising leather.
Just because you can't deal with looking at intact skin on a billboard doesn't make it wrong.

wasabi2k: What exactly are you upset about?

Would you have a problem with a sign covered in leather?

I'm not sure what you mean, I did not mention being upset about anything.

I was trying to ask if people would be equally as outraged if they covered it in leather.  I think it's ridiculous to be wound up about it in the first place - the rabbits were being used anyway, they were not killed for the sake of a billboard.  The billboard is covered in the byproduct of a meat processing plant, that happens to process rabbit.

EDIT:  I see it now appears that I was responding to the post above mine - it was not there when I composed my reply, I was making the exact same point at the exact same time.

Given the time of year its bad taste, bad advertising from a company that peddles crap food. I can imagine needlessly upset kids.

I know a few kids 6 to 12, my son nearly 7. They just shrugged, they know about how meat is processed. They are taught about where food comes from, they understand the food chain. It's not that big a deal. As mentioned it's not as if the rabbits are shot with the intention to do the billboard.

Again no different to putting leather on there.

Anyway Hell has succeeded at what they wanted to do, get people talking about it.

Does easter ring a bell as to why I mentioned the time of year?

Yep, taking the 3 days off in the middle stats fall nicely :-) A kids view point doesn't relate the easter bunny to some rabbit pelts on a billboard, the problem is when adults come into the picture.

and? My kids are 4 and 2 both understand rabbits, didn't give either of them nightmares barely caused a stir.

People need to chill out and stop being so sensitive!

Easter in my book is a pagan holiday. Easter bunny does not have any biblical origin.

IMO, it's perverse/ignorant to not understand the food chain. What a brilliant piece of advertising.

“I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... Such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.” - Nikola Tesla

I am not sure how it's a matter of taste unless you ordered and consumed the pizza :)
