I just received a pack of  nimh rechargeable batteries. I was looking around to see if the "charge for 24 hours" "let fully discharge" advice is still true?
Also in looking I came across several articles where they suggest that freezing older nimhs's will resuscitate them True or False?

Read up on Battery University. Everything you want to know about batteries should be there.

It was suggested to me for my nearly-dead cordless drill batteries. I duly froze one solid then attempted to re-charge it. It didn't do jack.

It did nothing when I tried it.

I froze a laptop battery that only lasted about 10 minutes for 48 hours, let it come back to room temperature and charged it.  It was usable for about and hour and 10 minutes, which I thought was awesome but it degraded again very quickly.

Then again, that was Lithium, not Nickle.

Although other more wiser men on here have stated myth I'd say it falls into the same category as the towel wrap trick for a Xbox 360 that's sufferred the RROD.  Although it may work it would be marginal and a temporary fix not suitable for any long term fix.
