Just curious...
Are there any other dairy farmers here?
How do you tech on your farm?

I have started to us the LIC MINDA calving and animal lookup apps on my phone and the Web based MINDA Land and Feed.
For recording pasture walks I have a Sail forms pro database on my phone which I enter paddocks covers in and keep other information about paddocks in as well.
We also use CBs to communicate(pretty low tech, but handy).
Use this http://odp.es.govt.nz/apps/fde/guidelines/index.aspx page to check when its ok to spread effluent.

Use my laptop for making bits of documentation and maps.

Oooooh, farm tech. Have looked at Overseer for modeling your nutrient budgets? I work with the folks behind it, along with a whole swag of people finding nifty ways of making dairying more productive and environmentally friendly.

We use 1 of those and a white board, I keep running out of space... on the white boards(in the office) any way.

I did sign up for an account with Overseer, but haven't had the time and farming expierence to do much with it.

My wife works for Tru-Test - Them and their sub-brands seem to have a fairly large chunk of the agricultural technology market, globally. Certainly quite neat to see what can and is being used in the industry.

Welcome and does it count if you buy milk from the local countdown? If yes then I am a dairy farmer

Maybe if you were to buy it from the dairy...
Otherwise you would just be a countdown farmer
