eracode: surfisup1000: "Honestly, I have not gone through and read all of the pages of posts ..."

You are the OP and you are jumping in here and there to respond without having read all the posts?

For that reason, I'm out - despite having been sympathetic initially.

Sheesh I also initially felt genuinely sorry for your situation but this whole thread is a mish mash of constant repetition of the same arguments and the people coming forward with actual prior professional experience sadly through no fault of their own arrived much too late.

At what stage do geekzone mods intervene and lock this off as devolution into a flamewar? The OP's answer was many many pages ago.

I got my answer back on page 2 (and i marked as an answer so people would not continue). There was not really any need to read past that other than to post an update.

So, the advice back on page 2'ish, was to submit further evidence which I did but  at this stage I am still required to attend. The lady I talked to at the Jury service did not seem to think the letter from my client would be enough (I read it to her) but she'd let me know.

Someone else can start a thread about the rights/wrongs of jury selection & trials.

So, you're right, please lock this thread mods. It has turned into a flame war.
