I swear I get a call from IDC wanting me to answer ICT related surveys at least once every couple of weeks....  this week, two already.

Anyone know how to stop this lot from calling - I really cant be bothered answering questions for 20mins about crap I dont deal with here...  they dont go away even if you say no, they just call back few days later "is now a good time ?"

Guess I could email the NZ country manager (nice enough to have their details on their website) but suspect these calls are coming from o/seas and complaining locally will either be a slow process, or just not go anywhere...

Just ask them to take you off their call list? This is what I do and it seems to work.

IDC doesn't actually call you, they contract independent market research firms to.  I used to work for one of these firms - conducting IDC surveys even - and it was policy if a person asked not to be called again to add their number to a "kill list" which meant our telephone survey software would automatically exclude it if it came up in future samples, preventing you ever being called again.  Just ask them not to call you again (be specific that you do not mean "for this survey" but ever).

I ask them how much they are paying me.
I point out that my time has value and if they want to take up my time I am willing to do it for $100
