Killerkiwi2005: Pie Finder 0.1 Rough Prototype :), obviously depends on how accurate your location is, a device with GPS is best

  • Got the listings of the winners of the 2014 pie awards
  • Ran the addresses through the google geolcation api with a short python script
  • A few lines of javascript to use the html5 location API to compare to the store locations
  • Use google maps to display driving directions
Will accept new locations if gps long/lat are supplied with a description and best pie

Damn it didn't lead me to pie, such a good proof of concept though!

Ramboss: Am working in Te Aroha today, and the radio keeps talking about pies, anyone know a good pie in Te Aroha?

Pick up an irvines and nuke it for 3 minutes.

I did say "good" pie didn't I? Any microwaved pie isnt good, great for a quick snack maybe.
Also have no microwave available.

It's OK - he's been made an inactive user for such a terrible suggestion. The mods must be really serious about their pies...

and the perfect spot to stop when travelling from christchurch to hanmer

Great pies here in Cambridge, home made ones real meat and real cheese in them with a good range of fillings. Although you have to get there relatively early in the day as most of the good pies are all sold by lunch time
