Handle9: Q+A today was really good on this topic. Bill English looked almost sick talking about what had gone on, and talked the most sense that anyone in government has on this topic. My take on his position was that it appears that things have gone on that are unacceptable and they should be investigated and if proven people held to account. It clearly contrasts with John Key's continual refusal to address or acknowledge the issues raised.
The panel was also excellent, Matthew Hooton talked a lot of sense (for once, I usually find him smug and annoying). Josie Pagani was a bit shrill but other than that it was a good show.

If you think MH is like that on TV, try him in person, it's considerably worse.

gzt: I dont think Hager has this particular mail. I'm sure it would have been in his book if he did.
According to the latest this particular mail was provided to a 'beehive staffer' (whatever that means) by Odgers who was a recipient of the mail and perhaps a participant of the alleged PR campaign to remove the chief of the serious fraud office on behalf of a property developer under investigation. (!!!!)
It's unclear if the whaledump (hacker) account has this email.

KiwiNZ: NZ gave him a haven his thanks for that is to threaten, defame the very people that gave it to him and attempt to pervert our democratic process, albeit by stupidity. Dotcom brings nothing to our society at all in fact the opposite, he should never have been granted entry.
Presso: Could whatever Kim Dotcom is going to announce just before the election have something more to do with Collins or is it just going to be about spying stuff I wonder.

For whatever reason he was granted it was not for haven:

Dotcom's view appears to be that it was for the exact opposite.

I would expect it to be something about the circumstances in which he was granted or something like that and Key's knowledge, and the timing of that, which Key has denied. I don't recall reading of Dotcom ever expressing an interest in Collins, it's all been about the immigration and GCSB stuff iirc and when Key knew what in the Helensville electorate. (where Dotcom lives and Key stands as a member)

English is the obvious stand in if Key is forced to resign before the election. Collins is no longer a contender.

I could not tell if Hooten was putting his foot in his mouth or somewhere else, or it was not his foot at all.
Really good show, I'll be watching it more often if the team can keep up the momentum. Nothing wrong with Wood's performance any day of the week. Some of those blokes could learn a lot.
mattwnz: In a way I am surprised that elections are able to be allowed to be rerailed like this. No one is talking about policies, which is what opposition parties want.
