ripdog: Wait, why do you need special software to watch videos?


You don't if all you are looking at it the video file. I've been using Vic or umplayer .

The carcam software integrates the video with GPS data to show map location, speed, g forces etc at the same point in time as the video image.

In Wellington you need one for legal record to protect you from pedestrians that believe the council policy is they no longer need to look before they step out onto the road and cyclists that cut into moving traffic without looking
