Interesting read but it seems pretty far fetched in some part.

But at least its "Breaking" news.

ah I see ... the man has some international bounty on his head from the word go ... too bad he got caught by the big boys in the end ... rightly or wrongly so ...

i'm with the PM on this ... just replace KDC with another name ... say, Assange, Snowden, etc

Hmmm... the head of WB says it's a fake. I trust them almost as much as Kim Dotcom. He'll need more proof than a screenshot of an email - logs would be a good start - but just because WB say it's fake doesn't make it so. Our politicians lie. Heads of multinational corporations with annual budgets bigger than NZ can certainly lie to our politicians.

it's too easy to say it's fake. but at the end of the day we'll probably never know, although it probably is true. the contents though can't be verified. I can simply type an email saying Helen Clark told me x y z ... doesn't mean i actually spoke to Helen

but assuming the contents are true, then it could well be ...

the GTA-style raid on him probably makes it true though, but then the FBI would be involved, as much as the MPAA and WB

After KDCs claims of being a hacker how can we be sure he didn't plant the email himself. The guy has zero credibility in my opinion and to be honest I'm totally sick of him and wish we could get rid of him. pisses me off no end every time he pops up in the news.

When you live your life on Twitter and Facebook, and are only friends with like minded people on Twitter and Facebook, you are not living in the real world. You are living in a narcissistic echo chamber.

the big shots always has conspiracies, that's they way they do business. JWB, BO, TB, DC ... they all have secrets, doesn't necessarily mean they're bad people, each conspiracy needs to be tested

if i had to make a choice on KDC ... it's difficult because he doesn't go round recruiting people that compromise world peace, but i can't side him

Which is why he was attacked this way first: he's so easy to hate. But if you think about what he is *really* accused of - which boils down to 'provided online storage where other people could put infringing content' - then this is a whole lot more dangerous. People can share infringing content via Dropbox or any of the other cloud services too. What would happen if Dropbox - or Google, or Microsoft - was first in line for this type of attack? People would be jumping up and down so hard the politicians would be falling all over themselves to give them amnesty.

But KDC ... well, he's so easy to hate. Go after him first, and most people will have your attitude: he's a crook, he got what he deserved, good riddance. And then the precedent is set, and everyone else is now in the firing line to pay protection money to rightsholders. 'Shame about that Dotcom guy, innit gov? Say, nice cloud service you got here. Quite safe is it? Things *break* you know.'

And that's why you should fight for KDC even if you dislike him personally.
