greenbone: warner bros made 5 billion in 2013. its so strange to me that NZers are willing to overlook tens, possibly hundreds of millions of tax dollars put towards protecting the profits of a multi-billion dollar US corporation.

now theres possibly even an email that proves as much, yet people are still like get rid of Kim DC? Kim DC didnt misappropriate my tax dollars to keep WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara on a private yacht in the bahamas. so strange

They did it so thousands of people in the film industry would have jobs, it's a trade off. They could turn them down and still would have missed all the tax or give them tax breaks, which is a common practice all over the world to get big companies to set up shop, and do whats best for NZ and the jobs of a big industry.

SaltyNZ: *Sigh*

The end result of all this is that we will have turned on the taps to another Hollywood revenue stream: garnishing your monthly internet and cloud service bills with additional fees to compensate them for the trillions in daily revenue lost to the evil pirates.

And you guys are not just letting them do it. You're cheering them on, because KDC's face is just so very punchable.

For your own wallet's sake, look past the man!

+1000.   I'm less concerned about sticking it hollywood though or my wallet, and more scared by the prospect of easier extradition to US that most people seem to be advocating, just because KDC is a sleazeball and they want to get rid of him.  What if it wasn't KDC but say the next Aaron Schwartz?

Snowy has come back with some stuff
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11325069

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden has rejected the Prime Minister's claims that "there is no and there never has been any mass surveillance" in New Zealand as false.

Writing ahead of his planned satellite appearance at Kim Dotcom's Moment of Truth event in Auckland tonight, Snowden said "if you live in New Zealand, you are being watched".

I personally like the man, hes done more for this country than most politicians ever have

As for the reveal i dont care, theyr all corrupt and work for themselves, i think our goverment system is old and needs a rework for modern times

When people stop caring about there internal interests and actually give a cr@p about all new zealanders poor or wealthy then it could be interesting

I'm going to noob myself past judgement

wow people being watched how dare they and what excuse do they have, I suppose they will say they are protecting us from all those terrorists around that don't exist.

I'm putting my tin foil hat back on again you guys scare me too much and feel sorry for these poor hackers that have got all this stuff from other computers in an attempt to protect our civil liberties (with no thought for their own personal gain, exemplary stuff)
