networkn: So if National get more than 48% of the vote they can lead alone?

wouldn't take early results as anything as South Auckland is usually late dfue to numbers and they bolster Labour a lot

How is NZF getting such good results? I presume now that voting has closed we are free again to discuss such things?

Doesn't he traditionally get the older people vote in Tauranga, and last election promised students free educations or something else equally ludicrous which he was unable to execute?

What did he offer this time? Free Ahem favours after each class attended?

my mother (88 and staunch Labour) and her friends like the policies on immigration and doctors fee's.

I advised her that voting for Winston didn't help Labour

Why would your mother care either way about immigration policy? I certainly understand things like doctors visits or gold cards for public transport etc...

yes very much so it is a generation thing as most of that era see jobs being taken by immigrants, Winston knows this and uses it to court his targeted voters.

I should say as well as my mother and co think that a vote for winston supports Labour so see no harm in it

Mmp is very complicated. Maybe is the answer. Depends on everything else.

I was talking to some old staunch right wingers today and a couple were talking about National maybe doing some deal with Winston being PM for half of the next term with Key getting out. I nearly fell off my chair and spilt my latte

Behodar: Results are now beginning to trickle in.

http://www.electionresults.govt.nz

I misread that as 'robots are beginning to trickle in'. Robots are a bigger threat than lizards.

yes robots are a threat, but I'd rather robots run the country than no one running it
