ubergeeknz: Wow.  That guy has 100 problems - and none of them are a woman of any description

LOL

Shamelessly ripped off from the uber-polite Ice T and Bodycount...I love it!

I just don't understand. What was the thought process behind this idea?

The girl said "No", but Siri said "Yes! 99 times yes!"

boy is lonely. boy wants girl. boy thinks to himself ... love = iphone, lets buy her lots of iphones so she will be with me. after all in hollywood, if you buy lots of stuff for girl, they always say yes.

but he forgot about girl.

girl is lonely. girl thought the boy was fun, but doesn't really have feelings. in fact he probably bought her other stuff / food which she gladly accepted. but he's not up to her standards and was never going to marry him. 99 iphones didn't change that.

Involuntary autocorrect in operation on mobile device. Apologies in advance.

I just have one question.

What the heck would you do with 99 iPhones had she said yes?

I saw a translation of some of his Weibo posts. He was clearly aware that she wasn't all the interested in him.

Sounds like a desperate attempt that failed epically.

At least he can probably get 80-90% back by reselling the iPhones.

Better resale than a diamond ring I am sure

Fred99: 99 goats - probably, 99 roses - possibly, 99 iPhones - you get to marry Tim Cook.

He could, she couldnt.

Did it really all happen as portrayed or was it just a stunt staged by all concerned?

The pictures that I saw showed no iphones, just lots of boxes.

Sure, try to buy her affections... I get that. But 99 iPhones? Even if she didn't already have one, what are the other 98 for? If I was going to spend $105,000 on a proposal (which is itself ridiculous) I think I could come up with something that made more sense than this.

Epic "more money than brains" fail.

I mean, 99 Iphones and he "uses" them in their boxes to make a heart shape on the floor? No playing of music in 99-part harmony. No 9x11 big screen. No 99-step treasure hunt from 1 Iphone to the next, all hidden at romantic places.

The woman was right to turn him down. Life with him would have been an endless drudgery of acquiring possessions to impress people.

Private jet to Bora Bora, then boat trip to the Island at the entrance to the lagoon with a romantic dinner with private waiter and chef cooking for you. Cant be that far off!

Isn't the "point" of this special occasion to spend money on un-needed objects, so you get good luck and find love?

He obviously took this quite literally and thought more money = more luck = more love.

Idiot.

But at the end of the day, iut's probably only going to end up costing him about $5000 after he sells the iPhones. And some nice young man or woman may come along and sweep him off his feet after reading the tragic tale of love and loss and iPhones.

Or maybe this is just another Apple marketing stunt.
