(Mrs Darth again) - What is it with the "weirdos" who like it 'under'?  I am pretty OCD about it being 'over', to the point where if it isn't I have to change it.

And just to drift off topic for a minute....I really should get my own account instead of crashing my OTHER half's one sealed

My mother always said that anyone who put it 'over' had never had small children spin the roll and spill the contents of it in a heap of paper on the floor...! Putting it under makes it harder to do.

Correct, but it is still the wrong way to do it smile

Over please. You'd never accept a hotel room that comes 'under'

And I thought I was the only OCD obsessed person person who did this!

Exactly. It's impossible to put the little triangle fold if you incorrectly install the paper under rather than over.

I'm not really fussy about how most things are done, but if it's not over, there'll be trouble.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

No, I do it too. SWMBO always puts it the wrong way just to annoy me.

Mind you she does not grasp that some mugs are for tea and some are for coffee, that my cup, plate, bowl etc must always be the one on the right and a number of other things...!

geekiegeek: I pamper mine with a hyper-allogeneic paper, not sure who makes it.

Surely you mean hypo-allergenic, because hyper-allergenic would be really bad for you and allogeneic is related to cells and tissues of individuals of same species but different genetically dissimilar.

No both the current Mrs Glassboy and the Ex both change it, even at other people's houses.  Personally I think over looks messy.

We have six kids and over or under didn't make much difference when they ran it into the toilet bowl and kept flushing until the entire roll was gone.

Likewise for their other source of entertainment. We also have a grossly oversized toilet vent fan (builder mixed up and put the small one in the bathroom and the large one in the toilet) which can suck paper off the roll if you throw the end high enough in the air.

My kids used to spin the roll and use half a roll per sitting. Squishing the roll so the inner is no longer circular, and more oblong solved that problem. And then you could yell at them if they still tried to spin the roll as you could hear the inner roll  rattling away ...

The most nefarious toilet paper dispensers used to be those ones that were on some kind of toggle-holder, that would dispense 1 sheet at a time. I think standard rolls were used, but slid onto a piece of wood the size of a sanding block, and worked in such a way that you pulled off one piece, some metal bracket would flip up ( or down), and then allow you to grapple for another piece, and so on ad-finitem until you had a reasonable handful.

In a busy public loo, all you could hear was - thunk - thonk-thunk-thonk <mutter mutter> thunk-thonk-thunk

My thoughts are no longer my own and is probably representative of our media-controlled government

Under, over, on the floor.  I don't care, as long as it's there!

Sometimes what you don't get is a blessing in disguise!
