What does "Access Granted recording: Yes" mean on the event page? Is audio/video being recorded?

There will be a 15 minutes panel on the corner.

Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown will be present to open the night.

Maybe we can have turns riding her bike? ;)

Seems like it turning into a monster of an event. I was interested in meeting some of the posters from GZ in a low key event.

I wonder if I should've registered my wife, who may come along with me... do I need to? I had it in my diary for 4pm, the email says 4:30pm, but the event page has it as 5-7pm now?

You can register here. It's not a monster - we will probably be the majority there.

Can you confirm the start time? Web page / email give different times. Not sure if my wife will come or not yet.

Almost at venue capacity - 120 seats. Make sure you are in town for this. You don't have to drive - remember the Uber discount codes!

The following email was just sent out:

A big thank you from Hack Miramar, Access Granted podcast, NZTech podcast and Geekzone for registering to attend the upcoming Wellington Tech Community Christmas Party between 4.30 – 7.00pm on Friday 4 December!

2015 was incredible – now what?

Those of you who know what drives us will not be surprised to learn that this will not be any ordinary Christmas Party.  Our passions focus on sharing, collaboration, technology, media, connecting people and constructive mayhem.  You should therefore come prepared for an awesome and fun evening that will include:

  • A Hack Miramar activity* (see below)
  • Spot prizes obtained by Geekzone which include:

    • Microsoft Surface 3 (including TypeCover and Pen)
    • 2 x Sony Z5 smartphones
    • Huawei TalkBand 2
    • Halo 5 for Xbox One
    • Fitbit Charge HR
  • A live 15 minute podcast featuring the following outstanding members of our tech community and past Access Granted show stars:

    • Victoria MacLennan: Managing Director of Optimal Bl
    • Laura Reitel: Lighting lab wrangler, community aficionado, and start-up queen
    • Tim Kong: Ex-teacher, ex roadie, and current N4L dude
    • Ruth McDavitt: CEO of Summer of Tech
    • Melissa Clark-Reynolds, ONZM: Entrepreneur, bee lover, and Governor Radio Show.

*Hack Miramar is all about 'popping bubbles'  Our fun activity (optional but encouraged) will involve teams made up of one or more Hack Miramarians, Geekzoners and Access Granted listeners to be in win some great prizes. All you have to do is answer "what do you define as success in the Wellington Tech Industry" in the most creative way possible.

But wait there is more:

  • event opened by Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown
  • Wellington Folk band Rose Road will perform original tunes from 6pm
  • roving magician Arjun Prakash
  • Uber discounts for the evening to/from the venue:

    • $20 off first ride (use code GZ2015UBER if you are new to Uber and this is your first ride); or
    • 20% discount (up to $50) for existing users (use code GZ2015GO if you are an existing Uber user).

Coincidentally, Friday 4 December is Wellington’s NO BLACK OR GREY DAY to celebrate the first Friday of Summer.  To celebrate the brilliance of our city, and to add even more vibrancy to our great event we encourage you to embrace No Black or Grey Day.

Finally, if since registering for this event you are no longer able to attend, we would be grateful if you could please delete your registration here: https://2015-was-incredible-now-what.lilregie.com

See you there!

Is there any way of transferring that ticket Rappelle? Was out the country so didn't see the email invite until it was too late to get tickets - seems like a pretty popular event!
