I can't get it working on my Z3 (which is an import, not a NZ handset). The App installed and then went to the setup wizard and came up with an error telling my that Google Play Services was not installed (which it is). I could however then go into goMoney wallet in settings and configure it.

Everything is configured but I've tried it on 2 terminals now with no luck.

richms: I have yet to find a card that I would consider to be low rate, they are just a few percent off the standard offensive rate. So lose the mastercard and get a rewards visa instead.

changed my mastercard to a Visa cashback card last night.

The little things make the biggest difference.

Have you tried using a standard contactless reader and attempt to query the PPSE?

Have you set up the HCE options in the phone settings as well?

Just used it at the supermarket on a Nexus 5, worked perfectly.  (Well once I unlocked my phone)

freitasm: Interesting. It won't work on a locked phone?

http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/nfc/hce.html#ScreenOffBehavior

Current Android implementations turn the NFC controller and the application processor off completely when the screen of the device is turned off. HCE services will therefore not work when the screen is off.

HCE services can function from the lock-screen however: this is controlled by the android:requireDeviceUnlock attribute in the <host-apdu-service> tag of your HCE service. By default, device unlock is not required, and your service will be invoked even if the device is locked.

If you set the android:requireDeviceUnlock attribute to "true" for your HCE service, Android will prompt the user to unlock the device when you tap an NFC reader that selects an AID that is resolved to your service. After unlocking, Android will show a dialog prompting the user to tap again to complete the transaction. This is necessary because the user may have moved the device away from the NFC reader in order to unlock it

lchiu7: Wel just got an update to Gomoney last night and now it's 5.0.7 and I got the offer to install Wallet which worked. Now to head to my local supermarket and try it out. I'll try the self checkout first so as not to block the checkout lines but if it works then I can use the regular checkout to amaze the checkout operator :-) I normally have my Fly Buys bar code stuck on the back of the case of my phone which I also use in lieu of the card itself so it will be an interesting shopping experience.

There's a few apps floating around that allow you to save your FlyBuy's style cards to your phone (copies the barcode and displays it when you open the app). Using one of those apps + GoMoney Wallet I've now almost dropped the need to carry a wallet at all (excluding for DLICNO when driving etc). Did lead to an odd look or two yesterday when I was at New World self checkout without a wallet.

Will try it locked next time. It wasnt working and so I unlocked it and it worked immediately...  Not scientific so would be worthy of some more testing.

Had my data turned off and I just got a connection error when trying to pay today at Countdown. Think you might need data on after all.

That's HCE! Alternatively, use the shop's WiFi.

I'm set up.

So do I just use this like I would use Visa pay wave?

That's the idea. If the payment terminal asks for a PIN you need to enter on the terminal, not on your phone.

From the FAQ:

" Data connection requirements for goMoney wallet

Does my prepaid mobile network account need to have an internet or data connection so I can make a payment using goMoney Wallet? No, goMoney Wallet payments can be made without a data connection. However, if you are offline for an extended period, this may affect the goMoney Wallet payment functionality.  If you want to change any of the goMoney Wallet settings you will need to have an internet connection to log in to ANZ goMoney."
