Does anyone know anything about this?

Apparently there are quite a few Wellington business' who have been hit by a huge number of faxes. One company I know of received over 200 pages.
They said that they had spoken with Telecom who said that they are powerless to stop it!

Anyone else heard anything?

We often get unsolicited faxes to the home business fax number. Most are from NZ, and a few from AU. I always follow the unsubscribe instructions but every one seems to be from a new marketing agency.

The one I got yesterday had an unsubscribe email address as *something* - How unprofessional.

We haven't been able to stop the flow of fax spam but two things you can do:

- Remove your fax number from your website and email signature.  If someone legitimate does need to fax something, they will call you.

- Setup a PC/server with a modem or phone system (*shameless plug*) and get that to receive faxes, and forward them to your email.  This way you can just delete spam faxes and save trees.

We too tried to unsubscribe to fax lists (looking at you Dell) but seems you just get more.

I think we have finally got rid of Dell faxes (Touch Wood) but it look many many faxes and emails, and despite asking to be removed from their snail mail list I continue to get them in the PO Box.

And hopefully very soon, fax-email service from WorldxChange

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, data cabling and general computer support for home and small business.
