What about that silver stormtrooper who sounded like Mr Humphries from Are You Being Served?!

Captain Phasma, a girl Stormtrooper, played by Gwendoline Christie, AKA Brienne of Tarth re Game of Thrones.

who we did not see and sounded like a camp John Inman....

I am wondering something since a guy at work mentioned it. Light Sabers are powered by the force, how did Finn pick it up, let alone use it? I am wondering if it will be revealed he has the force in the next episode?

It is a physical/electric weapon. Anyone can pick one up and from there switch it on. There is some interaction between the crystal and the user over time. Jedi goes blue, Sith goes red with the temper tantrums, but anyone can use it.

It's not real ergo you can make it behave in whatever way suits the Director that day...!

I watched it in 2D first last week so I wouldn't be distracted by the 3D.  Today I went to watch the IMAX 3D laser projection, loved the 70mm scenes, wished the entire movie was shot and shown in this format.

I did however notice the new iMax 3d glasses were very reflective to the point where the blacks looked washed out especially in the non 70mm format, so about 90% of the movie which proved more distracting than the 3D.  If anyone knows, would this have been because I was dead centre?  Did anyone else have this issue?

Finally got around to seeing it this arvo. In short, the best plot points of the first movie, cobbled together with minimal story, presented on a much grander CGI scale. In this case, less is more - give me the (original non-doctored) 1977 film over this retread any day.

And didn't care for any of the new one dimensional characters. Hans offered some welcome relief from boredom during the three hours and final scene with Luke was the best 60 seconds of the whole film.

4/10 (with a yawn).

BTW - watched at the new Reading at Lynn Mall. Outstanding new theatre complex - huge comfortable leather seats - and cheap ticket pricing at $11

Finch: I posted my thoughts on the previous page but does anybody else think Kylo Ren wasn't as dark as the trailers made him out to be? As soon as he took his helmet off, there was a voice in my head that said "Ugh god, cant take you serious anymore, put the helmet back on". Just seemed weak and ugh I dont know, just didn't like it at all. Probably my biggest gripe with the movie in all honesty.

That's my biggest problem with the show. The baddest badass looks like obsessive smeagol. The second biggest baddie looks like a teen that had his xbox locked out for a day.

That's exactly what Chewy said! : ).

My guess is one of his many enemies will pick him up and fit him with an artificial heart so he can continue to function and repay his gambling debts to the syndicate. Maybe the new heart will make him less of an ass. Also he can have a tearful reunion with Kylo.

joker97: The second biggest baddie looks like a teen that had his xbox locked out for a day.

Oh yeah I bet Han regrets that decision.

Ben: "If you don't give back my Xbox I'm going to the dark side!"
Han: "See if I care!"

That's where it all started...

That Adidas thing mentioned earlier in the thread is a bit of a stretch isn't it?   It's so obscure to be not even worth the effort of product placement.
