DaveDog: At the risk of stating what I see to be pretty obvious, but if you're not happy with how the seller chooses to send their goods, don't purchase from them and try elsewhere...

I don't sell a lot on Trademe, but when I do I use Pass the Parcel - Not because they're the best, or the fastest, or the cheapest but because it suits me - I'll always state in the auction that's how I am going to send stuff and the buyer is free to buy (or not) based on that...

I don't want to post stuff, I don't want to courier with other companies simply because I don't want to faff around doing so - I have the PTP bags and boxes on hand and it's low hassle...

This is not always possible (when buying from retailers) because sometimes you do not have that much choice which one and they often do not disclose which courier they will use, or use more than one firm depending on the cost.

Pace are very good. I once ordered a telephoto from Auckland which I needed to cover a story the next day. Pace booked a seat on the next flight down from Auckland and it was hand carried off the plane and given to me by the Air NZ staff! Cost me $181 to ship it...!

So, thought this might be relevant here..

made an order with PB yesterday afternoon (just before 3PM)

ordered complete with rural deliery paid for, RD address etc

arrived this afternoon before i got home from work, that works out to be within 24 hours from being handed over to the couriers and onto rural delivery.

This also came with 3 of my packages from Amazon ordered earlier in the week.

All of which arrived the day they cleared customs, one final one left customs at the same time but unfortunately was not in this batch of deliveries.

All in all, at-least for me, Rural delivery often has next to no added delay when making it absolutely clear the package is going via rural delivery as you should.

I certainly cant complain there! Family members often order things to work, however in my experience its almost just as easy to get it straight to the door!

Other experiences are relevant and useful. It is good to know that my level of service is not the standard everywhere.

Urban here, bought something on trademe that didnt say post on the listing so gave my street address.

And they chose to send it tracked post. Sigh.

Anyway, its showing as delivered thismorning. Nothing outside when I went to look. Nothing in the mailbox. Emailed the seller to check that it was the right tracking number since it is easy for people to mix them up when sending that way (another reason that post shop sending sucks for professional traders) but yeah. Hopeless tracked service.
