Why don't new phones come with a screen protector already applied?!!!

Maybe they know how much of a PITA it is to apply one! (Especially when you only have one "fully functioning arm" to do it!!!!

I’ve never added a screen protector to a phone. Which phones need them?

I do use a quadlock case which means that when facedown the screen doesn’t touch the desk, and I make sure it never goes into a pcocket with my keys.

Eva888: Etihad is charging them an extra $120 so the three of them can sit together on the plane in the same row.

Pay for 2 people to select seats, and select seats with one empty between them. If someone gets allocated that seat, they will be happy to swap with the third person.

... and save $40 to be left with no certainty that the swap will happen.

With two travelers, it is a good idea to select, say, seats A and C. If the flight is not full you can often get a row of three between two of you. Have done that a few times.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I don't know which phones you have but the last few years I had Huawei, OPPO and Samsung and they all had screen protectors already applied out-of-the-box.

I don't understand why some web developers love to be user-hostile. A site I use fairly regularly as always been on the annoying side, but has now crossed the line. The developer has decreed that the text will be a certain size. If you change your browser zoom settings, this lasts for 2-3 seconds, then their JavaScript comes along and resizes the text back to its original size.

I have mentioned this before but here it is once again just for the fun if it: Chrome and Firefox browsers, and probably most others, have easily accessible means to turn javascript on and off. Most annoying 'features' are controlled by javascript. I keep the extension button on my browser toolbar and just click it off whenever a site tries to annoy me. This works well in most cases. It also usually messes up layout, videos and photos but is great for reading text without distractions.

Same as companies that send their spam mailouts with a fixed width so its unreadable on my phone, cant zoom it. Can sometimes find unsubscribe at the bottom but otherwise hitting report spam is easier.

I don't understand this fascination with screen protectors. They are an inevitable source of irritation and annoyance. And they do sfa in the way of protecting the screen. My last 3 phones survived through to obsolescence without a scratch (on the screen) and without any screen protectors.

I'd add that I suspect that airlines intentionally seat people apart nowadays, to extract that extra $10/seat.

I gotta disagree with you here - last night, my Samsung S20 FE with its factory-fitted screen protector fell down the gap of the Lay-z-Boy, and got grinded against all the metal gears and whatnot down there. The screen protector is utterly ripped up, but the screen is fine. I shudder to think what it would look like if it hadn't had a protector on it.

I filled up with diesel in Rangiora.

By the time you add RUCs it’s probably now more expensive than 91 unleaded!

Was it a glass screen protector or one of the useless plastic sheet ones that will scratch up on simple pocket lint?

It should be, as you get to go further per liter with diesel than 91

The plastic one that was on when I got it, and that until yesterday, looked as good as new after 6 months use.
