surfisup1000:
Our neighbour just euthanised their dog because they couldn't control the barking --- but, only after 5 years of constant barking.
The pedant strikes: Euthanasia is often incorrectly used as a euphemism for just killing something. It means the painless killing of a patient or animal suffering from an incurable and painful disease or injury or in an irreversible coma. It is done as an act of kindness to relieve suffering.
In this case the dog wasn't in any of those categories - it wasn't suffering - its barking was just a PITA to humans so they had it killed. It wasn't an act of kindness to the dog.
Still the right decision though, IMO.
