Those taps that produce instant boiling and chilled water, are now available with a chilled sparkling water option.  No idea what they cost, I just saw one somewhere in my travels.

$2500 when I asked at a homeshow.

I can get a fridge that makes cold water for $1000 less, and a sodastream and a lifetime of CO2 for that.

This is a thread to mention small things that annoy you, not for discussing them and in detail. Some 'little' discussions have taken up pages and pages of this topic and it get's rather difficult to weed out the chaff!

Take deep discussions to their own threads please!

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

It's all chaff.  That's why it's fun.

Wow! I know it makes hot water too.  But that's expensive.

1eStar: A small thing that annoys me is that it's impossible to block out irritating posters in this forum. I've asked for it before, and funnily enough it still annoys me.

It'd be nice to skim down threads without having to endure the endless trumpet blowing.

It's a moderated forum - not unmoderated usenet etc where a killfile had uses.
If you've got problems with how other posters behave, I presume a quick note to one of the mods may verify if the problem is yours or theirs.

I assume I've annoyed you.  My intent is not to annoy, so I apologise if I've done that unintentionally.

I come to this thread to be annoyed! No offence taken. I understand how moderation works,  and appreciate it. Many things shared by some are not requiring moderation, but are often tedious. Having the ability to personally block tediousness would not only be sanity enhancing, but potentially could reduce provocation. And to those who argue it would lead to disjointed threads, just don't block anyone. I'd love this feature, I use it extensively on my Facebook feed...

I actually asked if that included the sink and installation but no, that was just the tap and the large unit to go underneith the bench.

Also they couldnt tell me how many L of cold you could get before it became cold tap temperature, which on my fridge is about 2.5l unfortunatly, then it has to chill the whole tank inside it down. Was hoping for more but oh well.

They also couldnt say how much power was used keeping the water hot/cold. With the fridge its just a tank inside the fridege so dont use any and stuff all losses - this was its own chiller that would be running all the time. Also the hot needed some wake up sequance so cutting power to it overnight and turning on with enough time to pre-heat was a no-go. I can put my kettle on a wemo and have hot water in the morning 5 mins after I push the button on my phone.

Hmmm...

That reminds me of something else which annoys me - which was covered in a sociology lecture long ago - IIRC sociology of the classroom or some group psychology topic.  I believe the theory goes that if there's a "class clown" or "disruptive character" in the class, experimentation showed that after removing that individual, another individual who'd previously kept his head down would pop it up to fill the void.  Eventually you'll run out of candidates, I suppose.

I think in every workplace I've been in, there's been the same person (with another face and another name - apologies to Bob Dylan there) filling the same very annoying socially obnoxious (to me) roles in the office.

This happens on my facebook too, but I don't think I'm winning.

Hot sparkling water? Now that would be a thing!

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

When you buy someone a nice gift and the bloomin' price sticker wont peel off properly and ...

- leaves either a sticky mess on the gift

- comes off in miniscule bits

- the paper layer comes off and the sticky layer is still showing the price

- part of the gift comes away with the sticker

- sometimes all of the above.

Had the sticky crap happen with the sold tape at the warehouse on a gift once.

Took it back once I got home and went to wrap it and saw the tape on it.

Must have missed them putting it on as I always tell them not to bother and they say it's policy and I say well I dont want it then and then they let me have it without the stupid tape.

Methylated spirits, not to drink but to remove the sticker and gum.

Methylated spirits

That annoys me, as it hasn't been methylated in NZ for decades, so strictly speaking, it's all mislabelled.

Its been called meths on the bottle for a very long time, and says ethonol solution below that. Problem is with that crap the purple and other stuff remains when you clean things. Used to be able to get it from the 20l ethonol bottle at last work which was great for cleaning, but not working there now and cant seem to get 1l of ethonol solution and 20 would evaporate before I was done with it.
