Less good experience with Curtain Studio who AMI referred the job too. The person came to visit to measure up for the quote and show samples etc and we picked what we wanted (also whilst they had a big sale on we decided to get the same ones for the bedrooms at the same time which we'll pay for on top of the insurance amount. The quote had to be revised at least 5 times due to mistakes (things missing, the same thing on their twice etc) which highlight the importance of checking these things line by line before accepting. And she had to come back two more times due to forgetting some measurements and leaving a piece of equipment behind. Eventually got it finalised in mid August and told "4-6 weeks" for all to be ready. AMI paid out the insurance part immediately. No contact from Curtain Studio throughout September so at start of October a call to the local store told us "by the end of the month." A further call later in the month for an update said "should be ready by 26th." Another call last Monday (31st) said "the system is still showing 26th so you should get a call for installation by the end of the week." Still waiting. Realise there may be staff shortages and supply issues etc, but some communicaton would be appreciated.

Further update: heard nothing last week so my wife called today and was told "we've had the stuff in the store since 26th and have been waiting for your final payment before arranging installation." She nearly lost it. All along they've said they would let us know when it was all ready and needed to be paid (we paid 50% deposit when the quote was finalised), and now they say they've been waiting for payment without having told us it was ready. She gave them a bit of blast over the phone, but sounded like it was a trainee who had no clue. They'll be getting some feedback once it's all installed.

Further updated: Paid the final amount last Thursday after the above call. Got notification on Friday they had received it. Someone finally called yesterday afternoon to book the installation date for next week.

This morning we get an email from the incompetent lady who did the quote (first contact we have had from her since it was finalised in August) to say "All of your product is now at our warehouse. If you pay your final balance we can book an install." Another thing to add to the final feedback.

When a software vendor adds a new feature in version 7 of its product, and makes a big song and dance about this very useful feature... then quietly removes the feature again in version 8.

I assume you are referring to median strips in the middle of the road?
If so, how does one approach vertically unless driving a helicopter?

I have this vision of a car sitting upright, its tail lights up against the asphalt and its 'nose' in the air...

That really would stop traffic to stare

I get what you mean...basically, those that swing into a median/turning lane and leave the arse-end of their car hanging out, so nobody can get past.

I also get annoyed with people who insist on merging like a banana...on the motorway, the drivers that swing from the onramp to the motorway lane, instead of driving forward and merging with the traffic. They also cause the same issue - they are often sticking half-in and half-out, causing a jam behind them, while there's a massive amount of room ahead.

Sometimes I think it would be easier if people could enter those lanes vertically...

Well I have been in the car with someone that thinks that people that merge correctly are "pushing in" and "so rude" when they merge where they should so cant win either way.

Some drivers shouldn't be allowed to go out by themselves.

When ever I see a vehicle at an angle of more than15 or so degrees to the lane it sets off alarm bells. Accidents waiting to happen.

Then theres those that instead of looking and anticipating as they approach an intersection or round about will stop then look to see if it's clears to proceed and in doing so reallly disrupt the traffic flow.

True, but on the other hand it annoys me that some people approach roundabouts etc and barely slow down at all. They may well think they're perfect drivers, but they might need to hit the brakes (if they're lucky) in case they encounter someone who isn't...

In that vein: drivers who cannot turn right without running over the left hand lane of the road they are turning into - regardless of whether there is traffic in it.

If you cannot execute a perfect 90 degree turn into the correct lane of the road on your right, you are going too fast.
