MikeB4:

My Arlo cameras threw a hissy fit. All offline including the Base unit. Tried for a few hours to fix it and have up. Couldn't even factory reset the Base unit. Changed cables, power cycled, restarted entire network without any success.

I had exactly the same experience with my Arlo camera's earlier this year.

Three cameras and the base unit all stopped working at the same time. I tried everything you did, but still nothing.

Replaced with a couple of Wyze unit's I had lying around until I decide what to replace them with next.

I had been considering dropping them as I was getting spammed almost daily with deals 60-70% for monthly subs. Dammed annoying

A new annoyance - but with the old familiar foe - tradespeople.

Insurance-based tradies seem to take so little care. And their time keeping is equally appalling.

We have had our bathroom renovated at the same time we have been out of the house and the reinstatement has been done.

Today, our plumber came and finished the bathroom taps etc. No fuss, no re-dos, no hassle. Total amount of time to complete this job was 13 days from start to finish.

At the same time, the Insurance tradies were swarming over the house to redo all the little mistakes they've made - like kitchen tap not installed correctly, kitchen cabinets not installed correctly (still not fixed as they need parts), dishwasher and fridge heavily damaged and everyone is pointing the finger at each other, while we live with the consequences, grout on the new tiles has been missed in places, paintwork (yes - fresh paintwork) has yet again been chipped and dinged by careless tradespeople, the carpet has yet to be cleaned and properly relaid. Total time for this job to still be unfinished? 614 days and counting

Bathroom, that we are paying for? New walls and floor, right down to the studs/nogs. New Gib. New bathroom suite installed including vanity, shower and bath. Paint and plaster done, tiling done, plumbing done. Not one hitch. Not one issue, other than a delay on tiles from Tile Depot.

I'm going to need a warehouse to store all the mystery boxes and pallets I've won from Temu.

That sounds bloody hopeless! Must cost insurance companies lots and lots of all the BS.

Out of curiosity, did the insurance company get a third-party assessor in who is also managing the contractors?

Yes.
The reinstatement specialists have “managed” the whole job since the start of April 2022.

I won't share the details on the public forum, but I believe they are the same crowd we had issues with. In the end, we took the cash and pretty much everything their subcontractors did ended up being ripped out and replaced or reworked.

My sister does this on all her texts. We laugh every time we get one from her.

Anyone know what the reason for the dots is?

It's an ellipsis. It means some words have been omitted.

Apple AirTags.

A single AirTag costs €39 (~66 NZD) here, a four-pack on offer costs €87 (~148 NZD). I only wanted to give two as a small Christmas present and have now bought the pack of four.
