Handle9: People who spend a significant amount of money to go to a show and proceed to crap on during it and spoil others enjoyment.

Just shut up.

I ended the up saying something. They’d been asked by the ushers early on to be quiet, if it was me I would have been incredibly embarrassed but they couldn’t have cared less.

When I’m paying NZD$150 a ticket I expect to be able to enjoy the show, not deal with selfish jackasses. Lots of other people around them were clearly annoyed as well.

I had a ahole in a movie a few days ago I went and saw who talked on his phone the entire movie. He was speaking in an Asian Language I didn't understand, but the gist was he basically told the person on the other end of the phone exactly what was happening the whole time.

Theatre was mostly empty, I could and should have moved, or said something, but honestly, I am not sure it would have made a difference. I can't imagine paying todays movie theatre prices and not trying to experience it fully, which you can't do, yapping on your phone.

I regret not being more assertive.

Now I am annoyed, at myself.

That you can't restore an entire volume without booting to Linux Media for my backup application.

Have to restore the drive by selecting *.

Sigh.

What a stupid thing to do. It's one of the most dangerous treks you can undertake and dozens die each year, who are fit and able.

… and potentially the Darwin Award - but sadly it’s not the kid’s fault. I guess the parents can get some cash by selling their exclusive story to some worthy news outlet.

(Couldn’t initially post my response - got stopped for bad word (WT*) that was in @freitasm ‘s post, not mine. Being Memuneh has its advantages 😀)

Darwin Award requires one to be removed from the gene pool. The parents obviously already infected the gene pool...

So the guy ahead of me wants a discount, and does not give up until he gets a free drink.

I watched him walk back to his Audi Q7.

smh

This is how you can afford a Q7.

You aren't the intended audience for those emails but there it's better safe than sorry. People procrastinate and need to be pestered. Better they pester than someone loses data they actually want.

I'm not so sure. It just means that the procrastinators will procrastinate for another week in the expectation of getting an ultimate final warning after the final warning.

It's the same as late arrivals at meetings. If you wait for them, then pretty soon they and everyone else learn that the meeting doesn't start until 5 or 10 or 15 minutes after the scheduled start. And then everyone aims to arrive 5 or 10 or 15 minutes later.

If there's real pain for not heeding the warning, the warning will be heeded. If not, it will be heeded the next time.

It's Everest Base Camp, not the summit.

https://ebctrekguide.com/deaths-on-everest-base-camp-trek-annually

On the low end we estimate that around 3-5 people die each year on the Everest Base Camp Trek. On the high end this number could be as high as 12-15. These numbers are estimates but out of roughly 30,000 people who do the trek yearly, this is a death rate of about 0.03%.

But I do agree... this "achievement" demonstrates nothing more than the parents' willingness to take risks. It's actually easier to carry a younger child because they're lighter.

However, I doubt that this kid is the youngest ever to go there. I'd be surprised if no Sherpa baby, perhaps from the nearest town, had ever been carried there.

It was my birthday a couple of days ago and I was given a gift voucher for an online retailer. Just went to buy something only to get "we don't let you use a gift card on that particular item" (paraphrased). Money should just be money!

I have some strange spider tingle that says that could be illegal.

Happy belated Birthday.

People doing sales unrelated to anything they could potentially be selling.

Subscribed to a place that does Olives and Truffles. They are having a back to school sale!

Really?! Sending your kids to school with truffled olives are you?

Sigh!
