Finally after 20 years loyalty which they just wrote and said doesn’t apply anymore with their new policies am giving State Insurance the boot. Aqua insurance $1200 for an 8k car.  Checked with another company named Protecta at $10k and it was $860

I’ve called in a broker to review all my insurances today.

Edited for company spelling

You have the most stolen to the point that it's a meme car available and you're shocked they wont give you a discount?

Yes I knew that, but mine is in a garage.  Also noteworthy is that the new premium price was based on them knocking its value down from $10k to 8k and last years insurance on a $10k car was $720. My Lexus at 3 times the price costs $840 to insure.

Depends on the Aqua (or Prius-C).  If it's keyless start, they are significantly less stolen.  The key operation ones, yep, they are the most stolen.

They still get broken into and when the kids find they cant start it they smash things, slash the seats and other things still.

You still park it at other places which means it is at risk.

Isn't that why we have insurance, because there is risk. Definitely won’t be buying one of those again and it’s such a great wee car for around town.

This is something I find particularly annoying - paying for others' misdeeds.
And having something that is otherwise very practical and useful made impractical through the above.

Yet another support ticket logged with all the details (URL, time, etc.) cropped out of the image. But the thing that really annoys me is that despite this happening over and over and over and over and over and over again, IT still refuses to take the Snipping Tool away from people.

What...no AI to OCR the image and automatically fill in the info where required ?

Well, I suppose it would expedite the process of telling lies on the support ticket.

If you didn't provide them with the Snipping Tool, you would get tickets without screenshots at all.

But I do sympathise - I get a lot of tickets which are variations of "my report is not working" without any context as to which report, let alone which system...

Try that with a spectrophotometer ...it shows error 12 (and error 63 IIRC, which I fixed, it lost the regulated DC from the stepper motor drive IC that is used to set the wavelength)

No user manual that says what 12 is, the only errors they show are from 30-70.

No service manual

Built by Phillips in the 1980s , so last service agent was probably last century ... so no hope of manuals....

And they want it back, working, ASAP.

Americans who seem oblivious that the ENTIRE WORLD apart from them use Si units.

What the heck is 120 Fahrenheit?

Fahrenheit 451 is a book and I believe the temperature where paper will spontaneously combust.

Does that help ?

<edit, fixed book name>

And then in five years they can say "due to lacklustre sales we've made the difficult decision to stop supporting the mouse", which is code for "push out an update that actually stops it from working".
