Companies who  advertise expired promotions on the front page of their webstore.

Computerlounge, currently advertising in a large banner on their website QS11 for 11% off.

So, i spend some time picking out some stuff, go to use the code and it is invalid.

I click on the QS11 promotion banner, and in the fine print it says the promotion expired yesterday.

Thanks for wasting my time, computerlounge.    Usually they are pretty good so i forgive them.

I goy a Sky perks email. It did say that the comp was extended, so I entered. Their email reply i got told me the draw will be a few days ago, and so on. Now, I know its extended, but perhaps crossing the i's and dotting the t's would be a good option.

Listening is no longer needed. You just follow what the script tells you to. Ask any help desk worker.

Your call is important to us. However we prefer you not to bother us, so please sit in this hold queue for an hour to encourage you to visit our website, where you won't be able to do anything about your issue. Thank you.

LOL. and true.

But its easily solved, employ more and train them better, but then the issue is WTF why are you putting prices up! Competition has become a price war, and costs have to be cut.

Ideally a call centre can move calls via the IVR, but with the competition you cannot afford a full on, low wait time call centre AND cheap as chip pricing.

Different people have different experiences. We have had a window washer in Hastings for yonks. He looks rough but is a very pleasant, polite, hard-working guy. I am glad every time I see him. He is never pushy and is happy with whatever you give him. I live on a farm and my windscreen can get pretty bad from all the fertiliser crap they drop from the sky. That would quickly use up all the water in my reservoir. I don't know our window washer's back story. He looks like he could be (have been) a drug user. I don't know if he could get a regular job or not. But he works hard at what he does, he provides a real service, and he is there most days, rain or shine. He earns his money. At least he isn't lying on his backside at home waiting for the dole. I'm glad the authorities have left him in peace and I hope they continue to do so. There are two sides to every story.

Great. I hate pushy window washers, but I love those in hard times that try to work. A long while ago where I worked the warehouse manager was hiring. One was an ex con. he said he was an ex con, he wants to be given a chance. We gave him one. He was great

The apparent dearth of hot cross buns this year. Normally lots of variety. This year hardly any.

The Media! Especially Suff: (Bold / Underline by me!)

---------------------------------------

A plane carrying 71 people is safely on the ground at Palmerston North airport, after reporting landing gear trouble.

The fire service was called after an ATR passenger plane, carrying 71 passengers, reported difficulties with its right-hand side landing gear, fire communications shift manager Mike Wanoa said.

Air New Zealand confirms in a statement that the plane with the flight number NZ5075, from Auckland to Nelson, had been diverted to Palmerston North with a suspected nose gear issue.

The aircraft landed without incident at 4.45pm, the statement said.

Pilots followed standard operating procedures and requested emergency services be on standby for the landing.

Passengers on the flight were shuttled to the terminal but were diverted from entering through the main gate.

Do you know more? Email us at newstips@stuff.co.nz

All 64 passengers and five crew on board safely disembarked the ATR aircraft, Air New Zealand said.

---------------------------------------------------

Am I missing something?

First statement: "71 people" = We assume passengers + pilots + cabin crew.

Then: "71 passengers" = 71 + 2 pilots + ?cabin crew.

Finally: "64 passengers and five crew" = 69 - What happened to the others while writing the article?

Or did the Airline lose them like "lost baggage"?

We sure don't need editors anymore - NOT!

Don't be a dick to other people and they may be nicer to you.

Was it not obvious i was being sarcastic?

The recently expanded Wellington airport lacks sufficient small-plane gates ...

So some regional flights have to dock on jet gates, which small-plane passengers can't use as they weren't screened prior to boarding.

So you wait 20 minutes on the plane for a bus which after 15 minutes sitting stationary on the tarmac finally takes you to a nearby regional gate that has been empty the entire time.

The amount of ads you are unable to skip when trying to watch something on TVNZ On Demand. Barely any different to watching it live on TV. I get that they are funded by the ads, but it's still annoying!

I watched something on Sky for the first time in months recently, having been bingeing on Netflix for a while. I had forgotten (a) just how appallingly low the quality of advertising is and (b) just how much of it there is
