Slammed, why does everything have to be slammed, does the word criticised not exist anymore ?

I just spent 10 minutes criticising my car door but it just wouldn't shut.....so I was left no other choice, sorry embarassedtongue-out

Am glad you made the effort at persuasion before succumbing to more direct measures (picks emoticons at random crymoney-mouth cos I don't know what they mean)

Don't know if this is done before

But waiting at self service at supermarket and there are 10 machines of which 5 are card only, none being used  but all the ones that allow cash are used by people using a card and they are not getting cash out.

Those ones are cash or card, They probably don't even realize that they do cash when choosing them because its so rarely used now.

Something that annoys me: why there are self service machines that are card only and some are cash only.

Digital clocks, watches, cordless phones, DVR recorders, etc. It's 2018 now and none of these devices keep particularly accurate time.

And that often such devices refuse to work without the clock being set.

At a bach we stay in there is an oven like that.  The first time it took me ages to figure out you had to press three buttons together to get into clock set mode.

People who answer an email in the affirmative with the word "yip" instead of "yep" or "yes"
I know that here in New Zilnd thats how it sounds but it's the wrong way to spell it.

Yip is the sound a dog makes.  Not an answer in the affirmative.

But it's a word:

"A short, sharp cry or yelp, especially of excitement or delight."

Having to type out a short story for my father earlier using his cellphone keyboard. What a truly painful experience. Totally reminded me of why I avoid cellphones and choose to not use one. My life is better without such tech.

Surely this should be in the "You know you're old when..." thread.

There's an entire generation of people who can type deftly on a cellphone, one-handed with the other on the wheel.
