And for bonus points, I bet they're really hard to get into.

Seen a big increase in pre pealed veggies shrink wrapped in plastic.  The likes of corn or even a halved avocado.

Try buying anything at Bunnings or Mitre 10 sometimes. That is the biggest unnecessary use of excess plastic packaging anywhere. Who the devil needs a shrink-wrapped toilet holder (also plastic) or power plug (also plastic) anyway? How can we pressure these damned stores into changing? What do you do when that is the only way to get what you need? I find it extremely annoying but where are the alternatives?

For bonus points, does the three-pack cost more than three individual cans?

An article on today's Herald celebrating 'house flippers' making $100000 profit in six weeks ($160000 difference between buy and sell price less expenses - probably about $60K). No mention of whether $33000 was paid in tax to help support schools and hospitals (bet it wasn't).

It's definitely taxable profit - purchase/development/sale by carried out by a business, and also subject to the bright line test brought in by the previous government and extended by the current government

People who automatically tag ALL emails with the High Importance flag, no matter what the message content is.

Dreams of self-importance by the sender me thinks

I really should  setup a junk filter to automatically dump emails with those flags and auto-respond with an appropriate message.

But knowing my luck, there will be some tagged message from the CEO that will probably end up with a not-so-nice auto-responder ..

My thoughts are no longer my own and is probably representative of our media-controlled government

I just received a survey with an associated prize draw (from a real company that I am a customer of; I'm confident that it's not a scam).

Someone decided that the best user interface is to put each question on its own page, not letting you proceed to the next page until you answer the question. When you get questions like "what is the one key thing we can do to make our service better?" and can't tell whether "what other issues do you have?" is coming up, it's really hard to decide on what to write.

To finish it off, the last question was "where do you live?" with a selection of about 20 towns and cities with no option for "Other".

If it weren't for the prize (which I'm sure I won't win anyway), I'd have given up on it.
