Countdown sold something at $15. It went up to $16 two weeks ago. Last week the had the nerve to advertise them on 'special' at $14.99, this week they again have the nerve to give them another 'special' price - $15

Charities that ring and ask for someone who isn't present, and when so informed breezily reply that they will try again another time.
Knock knock, people. I don't want you to try another time. I am almost always the one who answers the phone and I don't want to keep being annoyed by these silly calls. If you can't leave a message and a number for callback like a normal business, you shouldn't be ringing people in the first place.
Yes, it is a land line (sort of, it's RBI). No, we do not use cell phones. That is not an invitation to keep interrupting whatever we are doing at your convenience instead of letting us contact you at our convenience. If you can't work that one out, then get stuffed.
I don't think there is ever a bad time to talk about how absurd war is, how old men make decisions and young people die. - George Clooney

I can safely say I have never experinced that problem but it must be a bummer.
I was going to blame someone else for the debacle, but realised that I bought them myself.
I'm going to ask SWMBO to get me sexy new undergarments for Xmas - under threat that I'll start wearing a kilt.
Be clear who they are for when placing the order...!

It's a charity so on limited resources. How are they supposed to know your rules before they ring. They are not trying to annoy people they are trying to help people.

Couriers.
I'm tracking an order that shows estimated delivery as "yesterday" and service as "overnight".
However, according to the scans, it took 24 hours to go from Rosedale to East Tamaki, a distance of 33km of the 800 or so it needs to do....!

freitasm: Paying for next day or Saturday delivery is always a gamble.
IMO, if they take the money and fail to do what you paid them to do, then they should refund the money...nobody else gets away with that sort of con job.

If it was being trucked overnight from Auckland then it is likely to be very late due the closure of SH1 at Atiamuri and will be closed for hours due to a serious crash.

The oddity is the fact that the 'estimated delivery' bears no resemblance to reality.
With modern tech, they ought to be able to tell you which bin, in which building or which van and where the package is at any time, as many US courier services do. Heck, I ordered something from Marks and Spencer for my mother recently and M&S allow you to specify the day of delivery.
You'd think one of the companies would jump on the best tech solution they can find worldwide and out-compete the rest on quality of service and reliability...

To be fair the UK has a far greater market place supporting the transport companies.

I think post in general deserves its own thread. It's certainly not something small and annoying. The degradation in NZ Post service over recent years and months is noteworthy.
Watching the "Pokemon Detective Pikachu" trailer with the intention to snort derisively at it, and then find I now want to go see it! ... bugger!!
