Rikkitic:

You should be on the old person thread. How long has it been since any service station offered to check oil (or hired people who know where the dipstick is?).

Some 'Z' stations started doing it last year i think for a while -- as well as offering to top off your tank --  but, they canned that now I think.

Yes - they used to have someone who would help fill up etc and do windows but have not seen that lately.

Last time I had that happen was immediately followed by "Would I like to put in some feedback?"

"Reason for the season" moaners - who don't understand/acknowledge that rabbits as symbol of easter (Eostre)  pre-date Christianity.

A small thing that is really starting to annoy me is a good Kiwi site like Geekzone using an American spell checker to flag all of my perfectly correct UK English as faulty. Of course this is also widespread across the Internet but the implied assumption that the entire world belongs to America and that the American way of doing things is the only correct one grates more and more. I don't like it with the backwards dates and I don't like it with the many technical sites that seem to think the entire world uses NTSC TV and requires 110 volts @ 60 hertz and I don't like it with the spelling and all the other aspects of US cultural imperialism. In spite of the best efforts of John Key, we are not yet a state of the US. Could we please at least have our own language here?

That option does not exist on my page. After refresh forum posts there is just a blank space. I tried reloading but no difference. Is there something else I need to do?

It's April 1.

You need to change your web browser language settings - the way the underline spell checker on web input boxes work isn't anything to do with GZ.

How about that? I learn something every day. I still wish everything did not default to US. Thanks for the tip.
