Why do you watch the news if it infuriates you the way that its presented? Its not really a form of entertainment I have any desire to consume, just seeing events that are picked to cause outrage and maintain viewership along with paranoia building "find out what areas of the country are in for a storm after the ads" presentation.

I watch the news because it provides a summary of what is going on in the country I live in.
I also have other sources but that continues to be one of them. Sometimes they have cute presenters. My complaint is not about the news.

andrew027: Just the usual things: people who put the toilet paper roll on the holder the wrong way, people who squeeze the toothpaste tube in the wrong place, people who walk on the wrong side of the footpath. Because, of course, I do all those things the right way.

Amazing! Are we twins??

I would also add: work colleagues eating at their desk.

Having to borrow someone's Windows laptop to edit images on and being reminded how awful Windows is. *shudder*

Did not even show previews of RAW images on the cards before import!

Retailers who ask if you would like a receipt and when told no, proceed to print one anyway and throw it in the rubbish.

If they don't act in time, the eftpos terminal will print the second copy.

Sorry, but I call bollocks to that. I went to a couple of places this weekend and their machines didn't even print one copy. New World however printed one only, and that was the one that went in the bin.

I'll test that tomorrow. I always get asked, and i say yes. Why? Go shopping, dont pay just walk out, easy.

I wonder how many do that?

I just reinstalled Edge. When uninstalling, it asked whether I wanted to clear my browsing data. I said no. Installed the new version and all my data is gone.

I saw a survey a while ago that asked "How do you pronounce the # character?" and it gave multi-choice answers:

  1. Hash
  2. Pound
  3. Splat
  4. Number
  5. Hashtag

The most voted for answer was hashtag! 😲

When I started in the telco practice we called it the pound key (US-based). When I moved to New Zealand of course I changed to calling it hash. Both (and "number") are valid names.

"To talk to support press 2 followed by the hash key" or "To talk to support press 2 followed by the pound key".

Hashtag? Yeah, people that got their first education from the smartphone on their hands.
