the pointlessness  of the plastic bag ban. My takeways today both came in a plastic container, that will go straight into the rubbish when finished, and a drink in a plastic bottle and they couldnt put them in a plastic bag because they are evil . Either ban all plastics and find something else  but dont pick and choose which plastics you will ban.

We use bin liners that are plastic bags in effect, but made from corn starch and therefore biodegradable. Why can't supermarkets use cornstarch bags or paper bags instead of making everyone cart bags around, which they then forget, have to buy more and end up with many times more bags than they actually need?

Dingbatt: Distracted walkers in general, but in particular those too focused on their phone to cover their nose and mouth when coughing/sneezing. Especially when they turn their head to the side to prevent spraying their screen thereby spreading their germs to everyone around them.

The restricted sick leave model used in NZ so that employees come to work when they should be home sick, thus spreading their various illnesses, causing more people to either be off sick or turn up to work to spread it around....

The fact that either Trade Me or Real Estate NZ websites seem to be giving email addresses of people who look at listings to the selling agent.

Those are the only two property sites I've looked at in recent months and I suddenly got an email from an agent saying 'thanks for looking at my listing. Let me know if you'd like to view'.

Writers who use "&" instead of "and". Understandable in one situation or another. But visited a website and a single page has 59 "&", their next page has 29 and the last one 39 - come on, it just looks ugly after a while.

People who just pull out of side streets, driveways, parking spots etc as you’re coming down the road, they know damn well you’re going to slow down after the fact to avoid an accident and THEN they act like you’re not behind them and take their sweet time getting up to the speed limit. Frustrating.

Most interesting is that sometimes these people hesitate, then seem to think "Damn it, I am going to inconvenience someone and break the giveway/stop rule today, so let's do it" and then go.

Idiots.

Oh God, so sorry, that sounds truly awful and not that small either !

Our household has been sick for 4 weeks straight, looks like we are out of the worst of it, but thankfully, no vomitting.

She'll be ok, it's just a bit of an upset stomach. I'm pretty happy we are in a villa (Bali) rather than a resort. She can crash out and I can read my book by the pool.

My wife and the little one have gone off to see rice paddy terraces and temples.

Got a toothache (again... I had the same tooth a few weeks ago and apparently the dentist's "fix" was only temporary). Went home a little early and therefore didn't get my 4:30 reminder to buy milk. Got home and found the NAS beeping due to a failed hard drive. It's not my day!

Those wonderful fellow Public Transport travelers who step off the bus, then STOP! No looking left or right, just stopped...because it's what you do when there are 70 other people trying to exit a packed commuter double-decker bus!

Just get off the bus, move forward and find a nice spot at the side of the pavement to stop and think about why you're there.

The fact that your suppliers like electricity, phone, TV etc can write to you at any time and say "Sorry, our costs have gone up, so we are increasing your bill by X%. Have a nice day."

And we cannot write to our employers and say "Sorry. My costs have gone up X% so I am increasing my salary by X%. Have a nice day."
