I learned about a new job title: "Chief Brand Officer"

Here's an actual quote from a tosser, sorry I meant "brand innovator" Tom Jackson, at JaxonLabs LLC.

"A CBO is someone who has the vision, discipline, and ability to successfully implement ideas that relate to a central purpose of an organization. They balance internal culture and external perception.

I recently published an article on brand builders and why they should be considered business superheroes. I think the role of chief brand officer is one that will become increasingly popular as we move forward in business."

So how do you become a chief brand officer, you might ask? Just be a w8nker. No other skills needed.

From “You don’t bring bad news to the cult leader”: inside the fall of WeWork

..Crossing Rebekah had consequences. who’d been recruited to WeWork to become the company’s chief brand officer, quit in part because Rebekah decided upon returning from maternity leave that she wanted Rice’s title and took it, sources said. (A source close to Rebekah said that Rebekah, as a WeWork cofounder, had always had that title.) Last year, Rebekah fired a mechanic for WeWork’s Gulfstream, two executives told me, because she didn’t like his energy...

WeWork is not an example of a good company by any standards apparently.

The freeview TV guide. There's a movie on tonight and it has this description with it:

I, Tonya.

"Margot Robbie give the performance of a lifetime in this compelling and entertaining biopic!

The story of disgraced U.S. figure skater Tonya Harding is told like never before - leaving you sunned."

Who the hell writes this garbage?

Companies sending out emails from bogus no-reply addresses. Worse: companies sending out emails from bogus no-reply email address with bogus domains.

Worse again: a bogus address with a bogus domain with a bogus mx for said bogus domain that doesn’t respond to :25

Uninstalled app and reinstalled, no improvement...

Yea man just intervene in the food chain. Never mind that animals hunt each other, or that orca will literally swim onto the beach to get prey and that's why they drive animals into the shallows.

I just wish they'd spoken to an actual marine biologist who could have said "yea, please don't project your own personal empathetic feelings towards animals in such a way that you're interfering with their ability to hunt and feed their young". Instead we get this fawning nonsense.

Worth remembering Stuff made a principled editorial stance on climate change but being responsible around animals isn't anywhere near as sexy.

So they 'rescued' the dolphins by herding them back into the deeper water where the Orcas were?

When you ring the support line of a major company (in this case, Plantronics) as given on their website and get the message

"The GSM phone you have called is either switched off or out of coverage"

I have no idea why dolphins always get special treatment in the rescuing area. Rescue dolphin/poison possum. It is inconsistent.

One is an endangered species, often caught up in fishing nets, the other is a pest that consumes the forests.

Not all dolphins are classified as endangered. Possums are also not pests where they are supposed to be, so to apply the dolphin logic, all possums should be 'rescued' and returned to their correct habitat.
