People who park at the parents' car park in the supermarket... The woman jumps out of the car. Husband playing game on smartphone stays behind on passenger's seat.

No kid on sight.

Probably so disconnected with the world around them that they probably didn't even notice it was a parents parking spot.

It was over the weekend. The car park was half empty. Pretty much impossible to not notice the signs and all the available space.

Having parcels turn up at work while working from home.

I see postal and courier services are essential and still operating, but what will happen with deliveries to businesses?

One of our premises is staffed (essential service etc) 24/7 so the courier can be let in.

At the other, the courier has a key and can drop freight in a safe place.

What about yours?

The Insurance industry representative on Fair Go last night enthusiastically telling us with a smile and over animated hand gestures that the industry is going to well and truly screw us over because of the pandemic.

Parents car parks.

Ridiculous.

We never had them, I just don't see the need. Being a parent does not make one disabled.

I see some places have expanded this to 'elderly parking' spots.   What the heck next?

Yes of course, but the problem is enforcement.  And, this isn't a small thing.

Dad had a disability parking permit....  he politely asked a lovely lady if she could vacate a disability park she was parked in.....  she offered to smash dad in the face and f* him up for good.

This is directly a result of the supermarkets refusing to enforce disability parking.

Some solo parents might need more space between parked vehicles to get kids out of a car. And need to park closer if carrying a baby. But if you have a grown man left behind in the car, and no kid in sight, there's no good excuse to use these spaces.

Many elderly are frail or have limited stamina and slower. Parking close to the doors allows them to get from and to their cars easier and will not get too wet and cold especially in winter. Most places have many many car parks for able bodied but just a few for the elderly or disabled.
