Parents car parks.
We never had them, I just don't see the need. Being a parent does not make one disabled.
I see some places have expanded this to 'elderly parking' spots. What the heck next?
Many elderly are frail or have limited stamina and slower. Parking close to the doors allows them to get from and to their cars easier and will not get too wet and cold especially in winter. Most places have many many car parks for able bodied but just a few for the elderly or disabled.
While I think elderly parking has more merit than parent parking, there are plenty of more-spritely elderly who will abuse the system.
It is a good discussion though.
