Geektastic:

I did once get asked to spend the equivalent of $2,000,000 in 4 weeks to avoid an underspend at year end.

How could you find $2M worth of hookers and coke that quickly?

Inconsistency in web page credit card auto fill.

Some payment systems get the cardholder name, card number and expiry date, leaving only the CVC blank. Others get the card number but nothing else. Still others get the name and card number but nothing else.

Why can't they all get the same information, on the same computer?!

I think google chromes autofill is the most useless of them all. It actually asks me for the CSC before it will fill anything in. WT... you are supposed to remember that for me, but at least lastpass will do that for me even if it doesnt get the rest of the fields right. Sites that try to be smart with the card number and break it up as you type it in seem to be the worst offenders at not having autofill work properly. If only more places took paypal....

I'm currently annoyed by Finance asking for 2021 Budget forecast by COB Monday. On a Friday afternoon, no less.

Take last year's number, add 20% and send it in. Easy.

Some grey suit somewhere will knock off 10% on principle and so you will get a 10% increase.

You've clearly never worked on sales budgets before. The reverse logic applies - whatever you propose will be increased by 10%.

Only 10% Wow, you are lucky! (Never that small an increase when I had to deal with the resultant requirements!)

That's because your manager takes his 10% increase and cascades that to each sales person as 15%-20% increase. That way he can get his bonus but maintain his budget.

Autoplaying videos. I hate the damned things and they are becoming harder and harder to block. What genius decided that annoying people was a good way to make them visit a site?

Worst in my opinions are the ones who don't look they are autoplaying, then you switch to a new tab, and they start playing some random time in the next 5 minutes.

Yeah or you're quietly browsing an article and the autoplay doesn't appear to have triggered (a good thing) and part way through whatever you're supposed to be doing (Conference Call) there's suddenly an ad blaring out of your speakers for Cialis.

People whose parents have raised them to think its socially acceptable to try and run people down who are trying to help, instead of actually providing any benefits to the community themselves.

I guess this could include some media.

If it's any consolation, I'm still waiting for a preorder from Japan that was released in May. Japan Post wasn't delivering to NZ until 1 July, but my order is still sitting in Japan somewhere...

When people offer positive thoughts / sympathy / consolation - and it make me cry - harder.

I WANT my new toy - NOW!
