When some rich prick with a Ferrari parks in the middle of two parking spaces at the supermarket because he doesn't want anyone knocking his expensive toy.

This actually happened; I saw it at a local New World a few months back.

If there was room and I was in the don't give a crap falcon, I would stick it over the line far enough to cause them great troubles to get into their car ;)

When people with tiny cars park them with the wheels right up to the kerb, so that it looks like an empty space until you get really close to it (and have already started indicating).

ajobbins: My wife leaves cupboard doors open all the time and it drives me nuts. She doesn't even realise she's doing it. Probably happens 5 times a day.

While we're whinging about family members:

* My wife (for some reason known only to her) will put the lid back on a jar but not do it up.

She does the lid thing too. The used to annoy me but I am used to it now. After a few spills where i've picked something up either by the lid and the rest has gone flying, or the lid has come off - I now know to check before I move anything with a lid she has been using. I can tell what she's been into because the cupboard it lives in will be open :)

Yea, what is it with women and jar/bottle lids? Mine is infuriating and had me spill clorogene over my foot and floor the other day. And if we drop the milk bottle.......................

While on wives, mine insists that the right way to stack washed dishes is up the right way so all the water pools. Pleas tell me she is wrong and I am right!

DaveB: Pubs that run out of low alcohol tap beer because it is "really popular nowadays". HELLO ????

Oh ..... and pubs that do not stock low alcohol beer because "we do not have a demand for it". HELLO ????

"No demand".... Utterly clueless. It's moments like those when you know you're being fobbed off with a lie and they don't really even care that it's obvious.

I make a conscious effort to be a calm, non aggressive driver and try not to let the idiots spoil my mood but one thing still gets me instantly foaming at the mouth.

You are calmly driving along in rush hour, traffic is packed solid but still moving. Up ahead you see someone on a side road waiting to turn left and join the main road.
You slow down just a little to allow a small gap to open up so that by the time you reach the side road there is room for them slot in without disrupting the flow of traffic too much.
You flash your lights to show that you intend to let them in.
Rather than promptly pulling out and getting up to speed in a timely fashion they sit there smiling and waving at you to thank you for letting them in, and by the time they think about getting into gear and pulling out the gap has closed and you have to stop to make room for them.

You must be foreign.  A kiwi driver wouldn't let someone in.  That's why they are so grateful!

Why would you be stacking wet washed dishes?

Not just a Kiwi think. I see this regularly in Oz too.

My list (not complete):

  • People who take trolleys from supermarkets to their homes then leave said trolleys on the footpath
  • People who get into the main road in front of me, when they should wait since I am on the main road and there's no one behind me
  • People who indicate right when entering a roundabout when they have the intention of going straight, not going around (mentioned before)
  • People who first put foot on brakes, slowing down or stopping and then indicating
  • People who RSVP YES but don't showup

Dairyxox: People who have the right of way driving and wave you ahead of them.

If you would just drive by the rules and conventions then it would be a safer smoother drive. Now the people behind you are breaking unnecessarily and unexpectedly. Your kindness while appreciated is really causing more harm than good. Thank...but just drive like you're supposed to.

This happened to me last weekend. Straight street, guy slowdown, without indicating and stops, on the middle of the road, just so a woman leaving a petrol station could get into the road. Meanwhile people behind him...

BTR: Noisy eaters.

Misophonia.

This was the rules when I got my licence back in the early 2000's. They changed it about 2 years after I got my licence. If you were going left, you indicated left. If you were going straight or right, you indicated right, until you passed the exist before your exit, then indicated left to exit.
