Toothbrush. Bluetooth. Seems perfectly appropriate to me.

Geektastic: The apparent total lack of contextual understanding in Apple’s auto correct. It has no idea that its writing rubbish or randomly capitalising.

The fastest chip in a phone, neural network etc and it can’t even write sensible sentences.

Is that what Trump uses for his tweets?

I do the same with phonecalls. Really cuts down on the BS.

I'm quite happy to answer my phone as long as they fax my secretary at least a week in advance to book a time for it.

If it's a Braun then that's already done, almost their entire range is the same model with either slightly different model numbers to make comparison shopping difficult or with minor features removed (the charging LED) or added (bluetooth) for Goldilocks pricing purposes.

Social distancing when you are nearly deaf, a real pain in the ass .

Isn't there a Kiwi company doing well by making transparent masks for the hearing impaired? I seem to recall seeing something about it awhile ago.

Which is great, but everyone he wants to lip read from would have to be wearing one....

Ok if his friends and family who know about it is wearing them, not so much every day people :)

I suggest you are wearing your hearing aid incorrectly!

People that can't (or won't) use Outlook calendar functions to schedule meetings, rather they send you emails asking when you're available.  Then send further emails to change or cancel the meeting.

Maybe no-one has shown them how to do this ?

And I think it only works inside an organisation, not sure if the scheduler manages across companies ?

Here's a Outlook bugbear for me.

On the desktop client, if I want to schedule a meeting, task or appointment from an email,  I can just drag the email into the Calendar, and set the appropriate time, and all the information in the email is in the calendar entry, so I don't need to search thru past emails when the time is due.

Outlook for Android - have yet to figure how to do this - it just isn't there, or so well hidden it's not intuitive.

But on the mobile device is where I need it the most, not on the desktop client ..

That's a small thing that really makes me happy. I don't want Outlook calendaring crap for me that I don't care about, I don't want it setting up appointments, and most of all I don't want it to make any calendar-related email disappear the minute I click "Accept" or "Decline" so I have no idea what I've just accepted or when it is.

TRUE STORY:

I had some stupidly expensive hearing aids that I used only on "special occasions" - visitors or events.

Therefore I did not immediately notice that they had gone missing.

I have a small dog who will eat anything within reach.

When taking her for a walk, and picking up after her, I discovered fragments of my hearing aids.

By some miracle, my insurance company (AA) very generously agreed to replace them.

I offered to return the "damaged" hearing aids, but they politely declined my offer.   😕

This is a nice story. It illustrates that not all insurance companies are greedy corporates out to screw their customers.

That is what I say about video functionality on my stills cameras. Why? I do not want it or to pay for it. Most people are useless videographers anyway and their phones would be more than adequate. If a professional want to use a MILC for video, they end up spending a fortune to turn it from a still camera form factor into a video rig - so they may as well just buy a camcorder!
