MadEngineer:
Journeyman:This is something I've reported twice to the police before and both times they took seriously.
Some Real Cool Guy drove along my street, tossed a glass bottle out the window and it smashed everywhere. Now people are running over it. Why do some cretins believe that rebelliousness has to equate to obnoxiousness? Why is it cool to be known as a dick?
Before someone helpfully suggests it - it's too dark and the road too busy to go out there and attempt to clean up the glass.
Unfortunately I didn't see it happen. I heard the sound of the car, the smashing of the bottle and when I looked out the window saw the remains of the bottle. But nothing useful I could go to the police with. We do get a lot of cars screaming up that road, doing burnouts at the intersection etc. They're either associated with the nearby gang pad (police are scared of gangs) or they're common-or-garden neanderthals. I suspect I'd just be written off as a moaner if I contacted the police or the council.

For that I don't think so. I'd certainly hope not. I would see it as your civic duty to report it. That way the authorities can build a picture of what is happening and where, and then they can apply resources as necessary.
Broken glass on the road is dangerous for a cyclist. The bottle was a projectile for a short while and could have hit a vehicle or person. I detest littering (e.g. Mc'Ds wrappers thrown out of car windows) but throwing bottles and the like is in a whole different league. The perpetrators need to be dealt with.

People in Auckland - if you don't wear a mask in shops/public places where there are decent numbers of people, keep your bloody distance!
I've been quite chesty all through this hayfever season (as I always am) and am conscious that this may present itself alarmingly to others, but as a courtesy and a precaution, I wear a mask when I go to shops or other places where there is more difficulty social-distancing.
And if we're in a queue, can you just not stand so close that you're virtally inside me, please?
Also - second annoyance: left my keyboard/mouse dongle plugged into my son's laptop and am now using a wired gaming keyboard and cheap bluetooth mouse for the day.

Not just sites, entire companies. Microsoft. Google (Android). Heck, any company whose main product is software-based and who ran out of ideas a decade or more ago.
Behodar: I just picked up a Blu-ray only to find that the NZ version has 25% of the picture cut off to make it fit a 16:9 TV, while the US Blu-ray contains the whole thing. Sigh.
After returning that copy to Mighty Ape and receiving my US copy today, the disc is physically cracked. This movie is cursed!
Took the car to Beaurepaires for a wheel alignment/rotation etc before my WOF next week; was fuming after I had picked up the car, taken it home and saw a huge Beaurepaires sticker on my rear window. It took me 32 minutes to remove that sticker..

How big is "huge"? I have what I thought was their standard 90x50 oval sticker on my cars as they are a "preferred supplier" for my race car. If I wanted to remove it, would take about 5 seconds with a standard window scraper.
I do believe they should ask before applying any stickers to a vehicle though.

Not quite! 'Guns Akimbo', if you really want to know.
Despite the last email from ISP I was shifting my home fiber connection to advising "Sit tight before breaking up with your existing provider. We'll get all our ducks in a row and let you know when you can give them the slip" and "we'll let you know as soon as your broadband is up and running", had exactly zero notice of anything happening until the existing connection drops out. Ring helpdesk and get a message advising due to "reasons" our call centre is closed, please try contacting us online". Had to ring the old provider to confirm that the old connection with them was gone.
Of course made worse because I hadn't had any notice that it was going to happen, hadn't quite got around to configuring the router I was going to use = messy home network as the Orbi when changed from a wireless AP to the Router used a generic IP range, not my custom one... <sigh>
